Hello my name is Shanika I've been a care giver for over 10 years and I love to do my job it gives me great satisfaction that I'm able to help some one in need of assistance.

I became a caregiver because I had always wanted to be a nurse when I was younger. Also, my best friend/sister-in-law became very ill at an early age and I had wanted to take care of her but never got the chance as she passed away at age 44. My mom also became ill shortly thereafter and I promised that she would never go to a nursing home. My intention was to care for her in my home, but unfortunately she never made it home from the hospital. I vowed that if I could not help my own family then I would help someone else. I love being able to help people stay in their homes as long as possible and having the family reassured that their loved ones are being cared for in their absence. My personal achievements that I am proud of are being with two of my clients until the end of their life and knowing that I made things a bit easier for their families. As for myself, I am the mother of four sons and grew up with five older brothers.

I love to help people. I like showing people they have someone who truly cares for them. seeing them smile at the little in life brings joy to my heart and soul. I think I would have to say I enjoy listening to their stories about the good ole days. My proud achievement would be making sure they are as happy as I am to be there with them.

Additionally, I am certified as a Medication Aid and Phlebotomist, hold a degree in Health Science, and am currently in my senior year as a nursing student. This combination of formal education, hands-on experience, and a compassionate approach allows me to provide the highest level of care while creating a truly supportive environment for those I serve.
