I've been a home healthcare facilitator in San Diego, CA for the last 12 years. I'm new to McDonough, GA and miss that personal care and being able to assist those in need of accomplishing daily activies. I got into caregiving because my late brother had autism and cerebral palsy. He was mistreated in the school system and transportation services and when I passed I vowed to give my love, time and commitment on helping others succeed in living in the comfort of their homes. I'm extremely active as I'm a competitive bodybuilder/powerlifter able to lift more than the average person. I've have ample experience with devices like defibrillators, hoyer lifts, oxygen tanks, thermometers, glucose monitors and much more. I'm also CPR and first aid certified . I'm extremely patient and treat everyone better than I would myself because I'm already blessed enough.
I am compassionate about helping people. I've been a cna for 35 years. I started out in High School volunteering at a nursing home after school, I would help the patients with their dinner, read to them, and just provide companionship. I just love helping people. My greatest achievement would be when someone tells me how much they appreciate me.
I miss my parents who are passed. I found great satisfaction and joy in caring for them. My mom through her battles with cancers and my dad taking care of him through the last two years of his life. I AM A GOOD CARE GIVER, BECAUSE I LIKE TO TAKE CARE OF OTHERS. IT GIVES ME A SENSE OF HUMANITY. I BECAME A CARE GIVER BECAUSE I NATURALLY DRAWN TO WARDS SYMPATHY EMPATHY ANS COMPASSION FOR OTHERS. BEING A CARE GIVER HELPS ME TO FIND A DEEPER SENSE OF WHO GOD WANTS ME TO BE.I AM HERE TO SERVE AND BE SERVED.SO I FEEL VERY BLESSED BEING ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF OTHERS. I AM SPECIFICALLY PROUD OF A CLIENT I HAD WHO CAME HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AND THE DOCTORS AND EVEN HER FAMILY DIDN'T THINK SHE WOULD LAST LONGER THAN SIX MONTHS. I WORKED WITH HER FOR TWO YEARS. AND NOW MOVING INTO A NEW HOME. I SPEND TWO BIRTHDAYS WITH HER AND SHE IS DOING GREAT.
My compassion and empathy will give off the best energy to any person come in contact with me. I've been known for people to gravitate to me for spiritual purposes . Overall I am indeed a all around happy person and can brighten up the room. Having to take care of my granny her last years on earth, it wasn't not easy but as she always said "you do a great job at making it look easy" living with Alzheimer's, type 3 diabetes ,breast cancer , and 4 years of trembling limbs and a short tempered bladder, constantly in and out of rehabilitation, 7day medication dosages , well I was the one making all that happen and I'd do it again . The times we laughed and reminisced into the past for her understanding we never missed out on a happy day. She became to be more comfortable with knowing she was not going to be here long but in so timing she enjoyed every second. Passed away at age 96 with a smile as big as the half moon . She indeed was and still is my motivation my reason for caring and giving . This I know , my passion for caring , nurturing , understanding, listening, observing ,will always be a great contribution to family or household dealing with similar situations .
By nature I am a nurturing person, I always have been. Growing up all the women in my family were in the health field, so being a caregiver was just a given to me.
