After caring for my daughter with Rhabdomyo Sarcoma Cancer for some years I decided that "Medical Field "is most definitely for me,Some clients doesn't have a child or love one to give the care or love so that's why I decided to join this field I have a passion for sharing and Caring and companionship Since 2004 til present I have been caring for those with or without disabilities. I am one of the most empathetic caregivers you will meet. I first became a caregiver in 2002 as an STNA with extensive training. I enjoy being able to help with ADLs , but still allowing the client/resident/patient to be as independent as possible. I enjoy helping to increase client's/resident's/patient's will to live. I will/have alway respect the client's/resident's/patient's rights and adhere to all HIPPA laws. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is the time I changed a resident's entire temperament towards the staff by simply showing him that I actually care. He was a combative dementia patient. Being a hair stylist, I would cut his hair and line him up. The constant compliments received from the staff and residents boosted his confidence and definitely increased his will to live. Although, that was many years ago the thought of it still warms my heart.

I went into healthcare right out of high school and have been in the field since. I love providing care for all ages. Its my passion. I'm currently in school to continue my education in nursing. I volunteer at my local animal control. I am very passionate about animal care and protecting them from abuse. I current foster animals to get them ready for their furever home.

I am a very caring person, and treating patients as family. I love taking care of people that is not able to take care of themselves. I enjoy putting smiles on the patient face and getting to know them personally, because it helps me to know what they like and don't like. What hurts them and what doesn't hurt. I'm proud of the things I've learned, wound care, feeding, repositioning, everything that is an addition of being CNA.

Hi my name is Erin. Let me start by telling you why I got into this line of work to begin with. My dad is 60 yrs old now but in 2013 he was diagnosed with leukemia. He went through several rounds of chemo and then his bone marrow transplant. After a bone marrow transplant they give you medicine to keep you from rejecting the transplant. He was so sick and not getting any better. He began having siezures which lead the doctors to do more tests to find out why and when they did they found that he was allergic to the medicine and it had caused him to have several strokes. From there he went on to an acute care facility and to rehab but he was never the same. It left him paralyzed. While he was in and out if these facilities we saw so many things that were just wrong. Patients calling for nurses and the nurses never went to help. After that we took him home and mother and I learned to care for my father ourselves. After all that I decided I was going to go into home healthcare to care for people so that they didn't have to go to a nursing home because people deserve to be loved and cared for just like my father. This personal experience is what makes me a great caregiver.

I became an care giver at the age of 14 i have 5 sisters and 1 brother in the oldest so i always had to take care of them being a care giver but it really wasn't until my sick grandmother moved in with us she was bed bound nurses use to come to our home and help her with all her everyday living needs i would often help the nurses with the duties and when they weren't there i would take care of my grandmother. I like the fact that i can help someone that's unable to help them self while being compassionate and making them happy. an accomplishment im happy with is getting certified as a nursing assistant im already a pca, hha. im a very fun out going caring person i truly enjoy being a caregiver and when i get older an cant help myself i hope to have someone take as good care of me as i took of other people. My grandmother passed away but i no she would be very happy to see im still continuing working as a CAREGIVER.

It was there that I learned the kind of person I wanted to be. A helpful person. I wanted my actions to matter. The patients I met while working there had feelings, they were someones family and I wanted to help make there days better.
