I became a caregiver once I lost my step dad to cancer, I did not like the way he was treated by his hospice staff. I have been working on my goal to become a RN or a Morgue technicians. I have always been the one to take care of my family members in there time of need so I decided It was time for me to follow my dream. I have been primarily working with behavioral or wheelchair clients. I have been with my current client for a little over 8 months.

Hello! My names Paige! I'm so excited to meet you. I'm a very energetic and outgoing person. I love to meet new people and I'm very determined and passionate in the work I do. Honestly what attracted me to be a caregiver is because I love helping people and growing up, I seen my grandma in a really bad place at the nursing home she was at. And I couldn't stand to see her like that. I love the bond that I get with my clients. I work at an assisted living in the memory unit and I've made so many great relationships with not only my residents but coworkers as well. I love my job. A personal achievement of mine is that I'm going to nursing school. I have 4 kids and honestly never thought I would actually go through with going to nursing school.

I have been a CNA for 20+ years and a Med. Aide for 15+ years. I have experience in long term care, home care and assisted living settings. I am a caring and compassionate individual. I treat those that I care for as I would, if I was caring for my parent's or grandparent's.

I enjoy the elderly population and having the opportunity to assist them to be able to stay in their own homes with friends and family available to be around them. It is my passion to communicate with the elderly population and glean wisdom and their understanding of life. I respect who they are and where they have been. It is rewarding to me to spend time with individuals and become a companion and friend. About 15 years ago I was able to purchase a large home for my family with a mother-in-law apartment. We all lived there together until she decided to move to a senior living facility. I believe it was the right thing to do and would do it again but you can not also predicted what the other person really wants. I am a caring person who enjoys being around people. I love adventure and new situations. I have learned a lot about myself in the last 3 years as I have enjoyed working as a medication aide and then as the activity director in an assisted living facility.I have extensive training in Alzheimer/dementia care and I have completed training in a program called Powerful Tools for Caregivers. I have in the past worked with the elderly in their home and am looking forward to doing it again.

I became a caregiver when both of my grandparents needed extra help with ADL's and my mother could no longer assist them due to physical ailments that she was experiencing. Later on, it was my mother and father who needed my caregiving for the same assistance. Being a caregiver is my passion. I know, when I leave for the day that my friend is well taken care of and happy because they realize that I will be back tomorrow to be there for them. Over the 30 years that I have been a caregiver, I did obtain my certified nurses assistant license as well as a 40 hour medication aide license and an assisted living administrators license; all remain current.
