Single mom of a teenager Started caregiving 6 years ago The people I have met has made me a stronger person and I love what I do, love the variety of people I have met , but in this job you have to be very patient and know how to deal with a lot of challenges and behaviors, are jobs aren't easy and you have to deal with stressful situations and know how to deal with them , every year we have to take are annual Training and refresher courses, my main specialty is Dementia and Alzheimer's disease, but that's why I love my job to help people and sometimes they need to someone to talk too, or just a shoulder to cry on, being a single parent makes me stronger in doing my job and know I have someone to live for and help older clients in there daily lives and endeavors.

I Have Been Working In The Healthcare Field Since 2002 I Started At A Nursing Home As An Activity Aide I Often Took Classes With Feeding Dementia Alzheimers And I Also Became A Manager Assistant In Which I Was In Charge Of Interviewing New Residents And Working On Care Plans I Unfortunately Left The Job In 2009 Seeking To Further My Education In Which I Took A CNA Course (NOT YET LICENSED) And Then I Took Medical Assistant Classes And There Was No Job Openings At The Time In 2011 So I Worked As An Insurance Agent For AIL For A Short Period Of Time When I Became Pregnant With My Second Child After That I Began Working As A Caregiver For An Agency In 2012 Which I Am Currently Present At But Some Of Us Aren't Really Working Many Hours Or Any At All Therefore I Currently Am Seeking A Part Time Job In The Am/Pm I Have Worked With Patients With MS Depression COPD, diabetes, cancer and bedbound. Note: I Am Open To Negotiate On The Hourly Pay Upon Distance And Required Shifts Ect Do Also Concider That If You Would Consider Hiring Me For Just A Couple Of Hrs A Week My Rate Will Go Up, I Am Really Looking For Something Between 15-20 hrs per Week. I'm compassionate and caring and give 110% of myself during my time with the client. I enjoy reading to the clients and listening to their stories. I usually take the lead from the client and allow them to decide what they'd like to do for the day i.e. read, talk, listen to music, exercise, watch movies. My goal is to make the client comfortable and to feel safe while in my care. I enjoy preparing their meals and take the time to know the foods they can manage and the foods that they enjoy most. Once I know the client I will bring special meals and baked goods for them to enjoy. I'm attentive to their medical needs, the medications that they take and make sure they are rested and comfortable.
