I have been a care giver all my life beginning with taking care of my dad when he was at the end stage of life. I dedicated myself to his wellbeing and provided hospice type care for three years. That is where my passion began for caring for the elderly and those who cannot care for themselves. I then began working at a nursing home and gained my CNA, which provided me with greater knowledge of home care for indivuals. I worked as a supervisor of an Assisted Living facility for the last 15 years .I decided to become a caregiver when my father needed end of life care . The girls that took care of my dad made things a lot easier on my father and my family as well..so much so that I decided to become one of those girls ! I have been a medication technician (CMT) for four years, I administer medications per facility, state and federal law/guidelines by practicing inside my scope. I am also insulin & CPR certified by the state of Missouri and American Heart association. I am comfortable with administering insulin medication, subQ and orally. I am a nursing candidate at Mineral Area College, I have had ECG training along with the knowledge of A&P, Microbiology, Medical Terminology I & II, so I have a good grasp and understanding on how the medications and insulin works and what signs & symptoms to watch for. I was a C.N.A for 16 years and performed all duties of a certified nurses aide to allowable state and federal guidelines. I assisted with ADL's per family, staff and patient request. I have taken care of family members, like my grandmother until she passed when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2017. I have been witness to horrible diseases, genetic and acquired. My father inspired me to take care of elders he was very I'll I had to change his colposcopy bags, clean out his stomach it was terrifying but I loved to take care of him.
