I am currently a stay at home mom to High school students with Special Needs. I am looking forward to spending time with clients of all ages and stages of life! I have a Nursing license that is inactive- but it is this nursing degree/passion for people that has given me the desire to care take and love on others- deeply. I am half glass full type person who loves to help others in their journey through life! I love to sit and chat and play games/take walks in the fresh air and enjoy getting to know others etc. as we all journey together through this walk we call life! I look forward to helping in any ways I can.

I love helping people if I can, I listen to the stories they tell about their life experiences. I notice the good and bad days they may have. Always available when needed. I took care of my Mother that had Cancer for about 5years she was 39 years old. I enjoy the laughter about the olden days of their life that gives me great knowledge. I am a perfect fit for helping individuals. I can relate at times to how they are feeling when going through or have gone through a traumatic life change. Whether it be a short term or long term prognosis. I feel this is the most important quality in caregiving. Who wouldn't want someone to understand them for them and not look at them as if they are a patient but rather a true person. What attracts me to doing this type of work is how someone can be so thankful for what we do for them even if it is to just pick up a piece of paper off the floor. The most smallest things matter the most and to see them smile as if I made their whole day better makes my day 20 times better. I look forward to going into work and doing all that I can for all the people I have taken care of for almost the last four years. My biggest achievement in this particular job is having my loved ones thank me for the job I do for them, but I remind them it's more my pleasure than theirs.

Hello! My name is Lori. I am a mother of 4 (almost grown) children, and a daughter of one elderly parent. I have been a Physical Therapist Asst. for 29 years. My mother suddenly passed in 2017. My father has severe dementia, and in her absence, there existed a need for someone to care for him. I fulfilled this role for some time, until the inevitable, appropriate time came for me to return to my family and life back here in Missouri. I personally experienced the process of seeking a suitable caregiver for my father, to help maintain the lifestyle that he had always known. I didn't think that it should be difficult to find this person (people). But, it was, especially in a small rural KS town, considering the financial resources available. I discovered a passion for in-home caregiving. I have been blessed to be able to continue caregiving since that time, and have worked with several wonderful families. I am reliable, competent and compassionate. It is my desire to continue caring for those in need.

Hello! I am graduating in December from Benedictine College and will be staying in Atchison until May, so I am looking around for a job during that time. I have been studying pre-physical therapy and have just been accepted into KU Med Physical Therapy program. I am CPR and First Aid certified and I have experience as a 24-hour caretaker. I love to cook, go on walks, and make DIY crafts. I am certified in Teaching Level One Yoga and I love helping with strength exercises and encouraging activity.

What makes me stand out from everyone else is how much I truly care and love taking care of the elderly, it is my passion. The reason I wanted to become a caregiver is because the generation of seniors are the ones who shaped and fought for what we have now. I wanted to give back and let them know they aren't alone and they are loved and appreciated. What I love most about being a caregiver is getting to serve and give love. Elderly need love and I have seen how being a companion improves their mental health!! A personal achievement that I'm truly proud of is working so hard at my last job I was promoted 3 times in a year. I take pride in my work and it shows!
