Hello! My name is Elizabeth and I am 27 years old. I currently am attending Metropolitan Community College maintaining a 4.0, working towards my Associates in Arts of Teaching with an emphasis in Special Education. Once I have graduated with this degree I will apply as an Educational Assistant to gain experience and learn the various teaching methods throughout the classrooms. While doing this I will continue working towards my Bachelors in Elementary Educational focusing on Special Education. My ultimate end goal is to earn my Masters in Counseling concentrating in Play Therapy to help the special population progress in their academic and life skills. I offer so much compassion and care toward each and every life. I feel that everyone should be able to experience the most fulfilling life no matter what endeavors they are facing. Sometimes our physical and mental capabilities deteriorate due to surgeries, age, genetics and many other reasons. If in life when we come across these struggles we should never be discouraged, degraded or insulted for this. We can turn these events in life into strengthening activities. We can develop these hard times into positive times. I am a mother of a 6 year old bright and beautiful daughter. I do work 36 hours a week at a Roofing company Maintaining there books and records among many other tasks as well as take 9 credit hours of classes at MCC Maple Woods. I am looking to become a Caregiver for someone possibly overnights on the weekends, or any weekend hours. However I am open to the discussion of any available work. I am looking to be a caregiver to continue using my skills with assisting and aiding in growth and development. I do have a full schedule, but please do not let that deter you as I am very dedicated and goal oriented.

I took care of my Mother that had Cancer for about 5years she was 39 years old. I enjoy the laughter about the olden days of their life that gives me great knowledge. The reason why I started caregiving is my mother. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at 21. Being her son I had to do a lot more than the average kid; the more time passed the worse she got first her hands lost feeling than her legs eventually gave out, she couldn't remember events or simple things like memories of being with me. Thankfully I was able to go to college and graduate. Eventually, I decided to get into the field of direct service providing and really enjoyed helping people. I look at it as more than a job its a chance to help people like my mother.

I am a perfect fit for helping individuals. I can relate at times to how they are feeling when going through or have gone through a traumatic life change. Whether it be a short term or long term prognosis. I feel this is the most important quality in caregiving. Who wouldn't want someone to understand them for them and not look at them as if they are a patient but rather a true person. What attracts me to doing this type of work is how someone can be so thankful for what we do for them even if it is to just pick up a piece of paper off the floor. The most smallest things matter the most and to see them smile as if I made their whole day better makes my day 20 times better. I look forward to going into work and doing all that I can for all the people I have taken care of for almost the last four years. My biggest achievement in this particular job is having my loved ones thank me for the job I do for them, but I remind them it's more my pleasure than theirs.
