I am a dedicated State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA/CNA) with over 15 years of experience as a caregiver and have provided care to individuals in different settings. I value integrity and compassion as key in pursuit of my career and strive to achieve this with the principle of treating people how you want to be treated. I started caregiving as part time while in college and it turned out to be a humbling and rewarding career for me. Humbling in way that it has made me to appreciate life, and rewarding for being a part of making someone's life better.

Approximately 15 years ago, I became my mother's Caregiver after she came home from Rehab for a major stroke. After working in a Family Medical office for a couple years, I began my Caregiver career. In the past 10+ years, I have worked as a Home Health Aide and CNA, providing many services to families and their loved ones, including (but not limited to) Alzheimers, Dementia, Quadriplegic, and Hospice Care. Services provided include companionship, transportation, meal prep, feeding, light housekeeping, pericare, input/output, taking and recording vitals, catheter care, colostomy care, medication reminders, assistance with bathing, showers, dressing, transfers, wound care maintenance, and oxygen maintenance. My special focus has been with Alzheimer's and Dementia care. I am a CNA and certified in CPR and First Aid, and continue to work on completing additional medical courses and pursue avenues to help strengthen me as a Professional Caregiver. I also maintain current Individual Professional Liability Insurance. Your loved ones peace of mind, comfort and health is my priority.

I am a junior Biology major at Northern Kentucky University. I am studying Biology in hopes to attend Physician Assistant school after graduation. I recently got certified as a Kentucky Nurse Aid, and have worked as an in home caregiver for an elderly couple. I really enjoyed staying with them, even though it was such a short amount of time. The wife had a compound wrist fracture, and the husband could not fully care for himself. I learned so much in the 5 short weeks working for them. I am truly passionate about patient care! I became a caregiver in 1999 when my father in law got very ill from diabetes I took care of him until he passed away in 2001. I love to help people that need me, I enjoy learning about illnesses that affect the human body. My personal achievement is the gratitude I get from making one person smile and feel like they are worth living. I love making people feel at ease and comfort with the illnesses they encounter. I let them know that they are not alone. I am 37 years old, I am a mother of 4 wonderful children. I just recently got remarried. I went back to school at 34 years old, got my G.E.D and continued into college, I am expected to graduate in December of 2014 with my Associates Degree. I also plan to return to school and get my R.N. degree. I am determined, trustworthy, hard working, dependable, and love to learn new things.
