I chose to be a caregiver from my childhood taking care of my loved ones in my family whoever got sick and was hospitalized, I was number one to go and take care of them, when I grew up, started to take care of my Mom who had diabetes and High blood pressure, came to America and started working in a small assisted living for people with Alzheimer and my passion for care increased .I was so happy to make a difference in these people and make them smile.
The personality traits that help me to be a great caregiver are patience, compassion, alertness, dependability and thrustworthness.I was attracted to caregiving because ater taking care of my grandmother at a young age,and watching her enjoy the last days snd the peace she had just made me to persue my caregiving job,and extend it to the community.I'm proud of the fact that i can take care of my clients who wish to spend their life in their home enviroment, instead of institutions.I like my job.
Being a caregiver is such an honor - it's all about putting away your needs to assist others. Knowing that a smile on your face can bring joy and happiness to someone else is priceless. The moments when you can reflect back and see how you have helped someone is what caregiving is all about.

My mother is a Hospice caregiver, and the comfort that she has been able to provide to her clients inspired me to make a career change. I think that the Health care industry needs more people who care about the comfort and the well-being of others, especially those that are older.I have always been a caring and compassionate person. When I was a freshman in High school, I used to sleep over my elderly aunt's house in case she needed assistance during the night. I am a great care giver because I truly care about the people that I serve. Whenever I am put in a position to care for others, I always provide the care that I would want someone to provide to me or a loved one. I am looking forward to providing the best care humanly possible.
In the field of care giving, I have learnt to be patient there by allowing my self better serve my clients on a personal level. I have also learnt that each client's health needs are different..so I pay extra attention to the client's plan of care in order to perform my job according to my clients 'expectations

Meeting new people, getting to know them and being able to help them with their basic needs gives me satisfaction. One of my achievements was being able to care for a depressed client who after sometime started liking getting out of bed in the morning; I read to them and often took short walks with them.
