Compassionate, time conscious and dependable. The need to care for my aging mother attracted me to care for others. I enjoy the satisfaction that comes with making a difference in some ones life. Certificate of excellency from MBI health services where I have worked for three years.
Am calm and patient, I started taking care of my parents and then I fell in love with caregiving and extended it to others , I love the fact that I could be a helping hand to someone in need of it, I love putting a smile on their faces. I learned to communicate with those who can't just by facial expressions and gestures. I love caring for people.
I'm a great caregiver because I'm friendly and outgoing person I have the patience and the ability to take care of others as they were my own. I decided to become a caregiver because since a very young age I have also been interested in spending time with other people I love to help and make people smile I completed my nursing studies in 2013. It was at this point I realize that caring for people especially the elderly was my calling. I like being a caregiver because I can get emotionally attached to a person I am caring for so if something goes wrong I am very much affected in saying that it makes me feel good knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life and brought them comfort during a difficult time. Sometimes that is easier said than done and when your client passes away or no longer requires your care it can be very emotional but knowing you had made a difference in a source of comfort. My personal Achievement is I'm proud of is that if I put a smile on my client face.

Being a cargiver can be a bit of a big deal to some people but for me its a way of life. It gives me a great pleasure to know I contribute to the happiness of the elderly daily . I went into the caregiver profession because I have been taking care of my both parents ,(dad 86 and mom 73) and both parents are still living till today and its a thing of joy and pride for me and I just figured I should extend such love to other families. So , for me caregiving is not about the money but the joy of giving love and care to those who really needs it.
I took care of my father who had: Alzheimers for 10 yrs, that experience gave me a good knowlegde and understanding of what the disease is all about and the patience to handle such cases with love and compassion My communications skills, verbal and non-verbal and jovial nature helps make people comfortable and relaxed with me. It gives me joy taking care and helping people who are confined and helpless.
In 2011 my grandmother became ill due to Lung Cancer. I was very afraid to lose her. So at that moment I decided to help her and others in need that are suffering and disabled. Being around her and the nurse that supported her helped me gain knowledge and very much interest. I have learned the importance of patience being around those who are not capable of moving on the same pace I move. Over the years I have become a very mature and experienced caregiver. The most important characteristic for me being a great caregiver is having empathy. I show understanding from the heart and will be sensitive to every situation like it was my own.
I became a Caregiver because I enjoy helping people, and after having a premature baby I wanted to know how to help myself and my own family. What I like about being a Caregiver is seeing the difference that I make in someone's life with the help, care, and companionship that I give. A personal achievement of mine was being able to help a individual that I was working with that had moderate to severe mental retardation achieve her daily goals and living a safe and productive life, when every other Caregiver had a hard time doing so.
