I am a great caregiver because I have the skills, knowledge and experience to perform the job assigned to me with great dignity and respect. I became a caregiver because I like taking care of elderly people with all their activities of daily living. I like being a caregiver because whatever I do and wherever I go my clients are always proud of me and happy with me. I always say to myself, it is not how you do it, but how they want it to be done. At the end of the day, I am happy when I do a great job and receive compliments from my coworkers, residents, and patients.

Why I am a great caregiver? I embody the word "care." I believe that I am in this world to be a great caregiver. I cared for six foster children after their mother lost her way and left them to fend for themselves. Their ages ranged from one to seven years old, and they lived with me for seven years. I helped build a home for them, and some of them still reside in that home to this day. As a caregiver, I am very observant and skilled in assisting with the health needs of the care recipient. Caring for others brings me contentment and joy. My profession has taught me how to get along well with many different types of people. the work environment is loaded with a variety of different people with varying personalities. I work well with anyone who delivers what they promise. I have always been able to get along with anyone. It does not matter how difficult some of my co-workers can be, I've always managed to get along with them. I even manage to work well with those whom I do not encounter on a daily basis. In summary, working well with others simply means, having great work ethics, personality, and a passion for delivering what you promise. I have great communication skills and can work with many different types of people of varying personalities and skill levels. I am motivated, disciplined, and focused and I am determined to get my job done well and on time. Changing the way people age, is part of my daily activity.

I have 14 yrs.of experience in the nursing field.Since I was a little girl I've always enjoyed helping others it did matter if they were young or old if i could help i would. I knew i wanted to be a nurse when I was 11 yrs. old and my aunt got sick . My mom took care of her, I would help when I came home from school. I love being a caregiver because it feels good to help those who cant help themselves, and you never who face you can put a smile on. My two greatest accomplishments are raising a respectful teenage son who adores me;and the fact that i have a profession that i love and enjoy which allows me to meet different kinds of people. I started my nursing career at stella maris inc. 14 yrs. ago where I worked with patients with dementia and alzheimer's . I worked in a couple of different facilities I treat everyone with the same respect and dignity they deserve.

I became a caregiver because I love working and taking care for the elderly. Since my 8 years experience in the nursing field, my clients and their family love my care. I see my patience as my own family member. I treat my patience as myself because the way I want to be treated that is the same way I treat my client. Being a caregiver for 8 years has helped me in so many ways, I have worked in Hospitals, Nursing home Facilities, Private Duty, etc. I love what I do in helping each client I've ever worked with. I become a caregiver because at a very young age i remember always playing Doctor with my siblings and i grew with it. helping people feel better about themselves is very important. what i like about being a care giver is that is gives me the opportunity to contribute to the well being of individuals, being there to help them in their difficult times gives my fufilment. i remember i had a case in laurel to cater for a client. i did my job so well that the family totally trusted with their mother, and they were out of country close a year. that gave me much joy. I am a people person, i love to learn more about different client and their cultures. when i help my cleint feel better regardless of what they are going through i become soo excited. im a fast learner. i have my own car, i drive, and i have been doing this for about 5 years it can only get better. when given the opportunity i try not to disappoint.

The reason for me becoming a care giver is to give back to others, because what has been done for me in my pass. I am a fun and loving, caring person that loves what I do for a living, I have recently started working with elderly patients and I feel there is not that much of a comparison in what I have been doing with the young adults that I was use to working with. I love it all the same working with people is a passion. Animals are not an issue I love them as long as they don't bit, I have very reliable transportation. If there are certain ways that something needs to be done as long as I could be shown or walked through I am willing and able to learn and do. I am capable and able to run errands, prepare meals, engage in activities in the home as well as outside the home. Dress, bath, as well as just making sure that all is taking care of while that person is in my care.
