I have always been more mature for my age. I grew up as an only child, only hanging around adults. I have always had a caring personality and when I was 18 after I graduated high school I started working as a CNA at an adult day care, caring for geriatrics with dementia. I fell in love with them. They may not be able to remember your name or their own name but they can tell you stories about their childhood that bring warmth to your heart. I am very good at caring for geriatrics, making them feel comfortable in embarrassing situations for them (bathing, changing soiled linen) because they still deserve dignity and respect which I make sure they know they have the upmost respect. Some geriatric patients have a hard time with caregiving because they have literally give up every ounce of independence they used to have which is hard to cope with. My personality is very smiley and happy around geriatrics which makes them feel better. I also have a very loud voice which is an advantage with geriatrics since most are hard of hearing, they can hear me because I tend to speak loudly. I am an RN however I love being a caregiver too. I am very good at caring for people, making them feel comfortable, I am very easy to talk to and educating on medical information also.

I am a very passionate, honest and professional Registered Nurse . Right from a young age, i always wanted to work with the public to make a positive impact to people's life and that is why i decided to chose a career in health care. I enjoy providing care and treatment to sick people /service users. I pride myself ensuring that those under my care happy and valued. I have vast experience working in different healthcare settings and i believe the skills i have acquired over the years would be extremely useful in providing high standards of care to the clients under my care. After high school, i decided to do a degree in Nursing which i am very proud of this achievement because despite having to work and study simultaneously, i was able to graduate with good grades and became a registered nurse in the United kingdom for many years and I am know a RN in the United States I would love to work for a friendly family and i promise that if i am given the opportunity, i would not let you down.

I love the idea of giving care to someone who otherwise may be unable to care for themselves. My grandfather needed a caregiver himself when I was much younger and my family was unfortunate to have the worst experiences and I'd like to use this opportunity to make someone's experience a lot better and their lives easier.

Compassion, although it comes naturally, I have continued to cultivate it in my personal and spiritual life. Nothing makes me happier than to know I have in some way made the life of others, more comfortable, bearable, dignified. My first observation of healthcare was in the family setting observing, Mother, and Aunties attend to the needs of those family members who were advanced in age, disabled or in distress just seemed like a natural thing to do. At the age of 14, I volunteered as a "Candystriper." even though I was personally terrified of blood, needles, and that medicinal hospital smell. I love using my education and experience to help clients and their families through difficult times. My proudest moment was successfully completing my Nurses diploma in 1986, graduating from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, on the Dean's list.

I enjoy helping others and if I can do something to help someone feel better or whatever it may be it makes me happy. I see over the years even the slightest attention and care can go such a long way. Seeing a smile and a thank you from a patient or family members is satisfying. I have had numerous personal one which I still wonder how I did it was graduate Nursing school with all the challenges thrown my way by my personal life with divorce, custody issues and doing all I can for my kids one which is disabled and the love of my life. I am currently studying for my Boards for RN license and currently working in a Pediatric ER and have for over a year now and love every day I am there. It is fast pace which I like. Have learned and seen many things, some sad and some rewarding. Before I took the Student Nurse / PCT position at the hospital I was working with the ARC of Anne Arundel County for the Adults as a CNA and Med Tech. I have over 30 years experience in the practice of both General Nursing and Ophthalmic Nursing having being a Registered Nurse in my country, Nigeria. I'm a self disciplined person having served in the Nigerian Air Force for 30 years with remarkable records. The military service offered me great opportunities to have worked both at home and abroad which enabled me interacted with different people and also appreciated their cultures. That was a valuable experience too as healthcare cannot be successfully and efficiently carried out without caregivers respecting the various cultures of clients. My training and certification in Nursing Aide Assistance further equipped me with necessary skills as a Direct Caregiver. I have been motivated to continue as a caregiver in view of my experience in nursing care practice as mentioned more so that both nursing and caregiving are centered on the patient's healthcare which is aimed at patient or client early recovery back to normal rhythm of life roles. I believe that both my Nursing experience and direct caregiving experience predicated on self discipline are my strong strengths that make me a great caregiver. My professional contributions to client recovery to the extent of them been able to carry out activities of daily living with little or no assistance make me happy and proud for being an effective caregiver.

I became a caregiver because I love providing care to those that are not able to assist themselves in their daily activities. While working with my clients I try to figure out what activities they like to do which will make them happy. I am a registered nurse for a year,very caring caregiver, I was a certified nursing assistant for almost 10years. I am actually working at Americare Home health care, visiting patients at their house., doing wound care, supervision, giving medications, teaching patients and family about meds and disease process. I love working with the elderly , I am patient and a good listener. I worked for the past years for some agencies , do ADLs , sometimes as companion. I like to treat others as the same as i will want someone to take care of my love ones.

I became a registered nurse to help people when they are sick, to be that face that they count on because it's the person that helps them to feel even a little bit better.
