I am a 56yr old female and have been caring for/ assisting seniors and disabled/challenged adults for 12 yrs. I've worked for clients with dementia, alzheimers, MS, Parkinsons, surgeries, CHF, COPD, stroke, CKD, numerous cancers, SP Cath, diabetes, as well as other disabilities and illnesses. Duties have included companionship/mind and sensory stimulation (games, puzzles, discussions, outings..), transportation, meals, cooking, medication management/reminders, assist with hygiene/bathing/dressing, schedule mngmt(Dr.appts, hair), laundry, groceries, errands, LIGHT housecleaning, stretching/ROM exercises, household mngmt. I am certified with the state as a Certified Nurse Assistant, also trained in BLS, AED, and CPR, which allows me to work in Home Care, Hospitals, Rehab. Facilities, and Senior Care/Long-Term Care Facilities... but I prefer Home Care. I Love what I do and am compassionate and patient with my clients/patients. I hold an impeccable driving record and a chauffeur license, and have a trustworthy, well-maintained, well-insured vehicle chosen specifically for working with my clients(easy seating with easy access for walkers/wheelchairs). Working part-time/occasionally for an agency, I am required to keep a CLEAR CRIMINAL BACKGROUND as well as remain current on my CPR/BLS and CNA training/certifications and TB testings. I'm an extremely caring person, and I love meeting new people and creating special bonds. I enjoy being a caregiver because I can ensure that my residents are being properly cared for, and getting the treatment they deserve. I like to think of how I would want my parents/grandparents to be treated and that is how I provide care.

I would describe myself as a person who always complete a job to its entirety. I love helping out in any way that I can to make others' lives a little bit easier. I currently work at a nursing home have been there for going on 5 months and I work with all types of residents from Dementia residents to Alzhemiers to residents that don't have any diagnosis. I love working with my residents and finding out new things about them every day. I change the breifs, shower them and even sometimes when the refuse I try to take them in the bathroom and at least wipe them down to prevent infections. I always where gloves to protect me and my loved ones. I cherish my residents as if they were my family and love them as so.

I became a caregiver in 1994, where I began training as a CNA. I love my job as a caregiver. The personal reward of a thankful and satisfied client is more than any money could buy. I am a mature adult female with an aging Grandma and Mother. I myself have 3 adult children. Caregiving is my life, it's my career.

Being a caregiver has always been a huge part of my life. When I was very young girl my mother had two strokes. I took on the role of being my mother's care giver at age 13. After I graduated high school, I knew that caring for people is what I loved, and was one of my special talents. My favorite part about being a care giver is being able to help someone else in their time of need. I feel extremely empathetic towards people who were not blessed with good health. A personal achievement I am proud of is my grade point average in college. I managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA for my whole freshman year of college. Most of my time is spent taking care of my parents, studying, and practicing meditation.

I love to take care people because I worked 9 + years as a registered nurse in Intensive cardiac care unit in India. I worked as a nurse supervisor to my last to years. Then I moved to USA .
