I've been a CNA for 4.5 years and a caregiver for about 2 years. I did care for an elderly lady prior to being certified as a nursing assistant. I've done all activities such as bathing, eating, mobility, dressing, making beds, taking vital signs, etc

I have a long line of care takers in my family so it's always been my passion to help people live their lives to the fullest. It brings me joy to watch the worry fall off their shoulders the minute I walk through the door. Every one of my clients are treated as if they were my own family. I am most proud of my ability to have patients. I have been pushed to my limit several times but I can always remain calm and talk my way through those crisis. I make friends easily but yet manage to stay professional in my work places. I'm a very relaxed and approachable person, I feel that's very important in my field.

What makes me a great caregiver: I believe to become a great caregiver a person have to love the people that they are giving care to, be compassionate and a team player. I believe that applies to me. Why did you become a care giver: I became a caregiver because I love helping people, and it was easy for me to adapt to the setting once I am engage, especially Home cares. What do you like about being a caregiver: I like being a caregiver because it give me the opportunity to give the best of me to people of different walk of life. What is a personal achievement you are proud of: I am proud that working as a caregiver I was able to put my kids through High school and college.

1. My name is Grace and I come from a big Christian family. I was raised in a Village where every one seemed to care for one another. I'm a wife and a proud mother of three, so yes, my caregiving skills start from home/my heart. 2. I have been caring for people my entire life from the age of 10 when my mom became ill I care for my 6 siblings. I have worked as a nursing assistant, Hospice aid, Dialysis tech and the past 7 years as an activities assistant in a nursing home/ rehab. As a child my Great Aunt and Grandma lived with us until they pasted away, most recently I took a leave from work to move in and care for my Dad so he could pass away in his own home. I am a caring, loving, understanding and paient person who enjoys the company of a variety of ages and personallities. I was also a toddler teacher at a headstart program which I truelly enjoyed. I am a single mother of 3 grown children and the Grandmother of 9 . I am very active and enjoy camping, biking and hikes with my sibling, neices, nephews, children and grandchildren. I have a dog named Willie who has been working with me at the nursing home for 4 1/2 years and has been a joy to many of the Residents.

I have always had a passion for Caregiving. I enjoy helping others and find a sense of rewardment and pride in what I do. My biggest personal achivement has been my Registered Nursing degree. I am just taking time to study for my boards. I grew up taking care of my elderly family memebers and knew from a young age I always wanted to be in heath care.
