I became a caregiver because I love to serve and help the needy. Before I started a job as a caregiver, I volunteered at the Pre-Ops of Sinai hospital in Baltimore forsix (6) hours, 3 days a week.I care about people, I am a very loving and caring person, full of empathy and I am learning so much in this chosen career from my clients. I am full of joy, I love to sing, read them poems and sometimes we dance together. I love to dress them up. We play cards sometime and some of them watch their favorite game show on T.V and cooking is also a delight to me. I am a great companion on my one -one cases because I love to be fulfilled at work too.

I have a long line of care takers in my family so it's always been my passion to help people live their lives to the fullest. It brings me joy to watch the worry fall off their shoulders the minute I walk through the door. Every one of my clients are treated as if they were my own family. I am most proud of my ability to have patients. I have been pushed to my limit several times but I can always remain calm and talk my way through those crisis. I make friends easily but yet manage to stay professional in my work places. I'm a very relaxed and approachable person, I feel that's very important in my field.

It makes me feel good taking care of others All of it, there story's and how happy they are, I'm proud of being able to help. And having them achieve their goals. I'm a 40 year old, married for 14 years I Have 3 kids and I like working with the elderly.

I became a caregiver for a few reasons. First reason was to peruse my dream of becoming a nurse and secondly because helping others truly is my passion and working with others brings me joy. What I like about being a caregiver is when I can make someone else’s day just a little bit brighter and even easier. This is an accomplishment that I can achieve again and again. Along with this my biggest achievement was being accepting into Metropolitan State University’s Nursing program. This was a goal that seemed very hard to reach but with determination and hard work I was able to prove to myself that I can do anything that I set my mind to. I currently live in Minnetonka MN, with my beloved husband and our joyful kitten Leo. I am on track to graduate with my Nursing degree in 2016.

My passion for healthcare began about the age of five. For many years my dream career was to become a doctor. As I aged and researched into a career as a doctor, I realized that medical school was far too expensive for my financial situation. Regardless, of this financial set back, I knew that healthcare was the career field I wanted to pursue. I have always had a caring, loving, nurturing, helpful, compassionate, caregiver disposition and character. The greatest personal reward for me is the joy I feel at the end of each day knowing I have done something to make someones day happier, healthier, and more productive. I find joy in seeing others happy, healthy, and successful. I have a AAS degree in medical administration and Certifications for CNA, PCA, CPR, BLS, Passed the HHA exam through my current job at Nightingale Home Health Care, and multiple years experience working in home health care. I have been caring for people my entire life from the age of 10 when my mom became ill I care for my 6 siblings. I have worked as a nursing assistant, Hospice aid, Dialysis tech and the past 7 years as an activities assistant in a nursing home/ rehab. As a child my Great Aunt and Grandma lived with us until they pasted away, most recently I took a leave from work to move in and care for my Dad so he could pass away in his own home. I am a caring, loving, understanding and paient person who enjoys the company of a variety of ages and personallities. I was also a toddler teacher at a headstart program which I truelly enjoyed. I am a single mother of 3 grown children and the Grandmother of 9 . I am very active and enjoy camping, biking and hikes with my sibling, neices, nephews, children and grandchildren.
