She was fun to be with, and we enjoyed each other company and she taught me life lessons that has been applied to my life today. Being a caregiver, the client can rest assured that they can be safe and comfortable in their home and they will be provided the care a dignity, compassion and respect they deserve.

I became a care giver when my grandmother got severely ill at the age of 12. I took care of my sick grandmother for over 5 years before she passed away. That moment made me realize that there was nothing di could enjoy more than helping individuals get to better states in their lives. The satisfaction I see in my clients face during the time of care I provide is beyond any type of reward anyone can offer. I take pleasure in knowing that I have impacted someone’s life in a positive way. I am a certified nursing assistant also certified as a HHA and have my CPR and first aid. I am in my nursing program to be a nurse in a year or so. I have a great amount of knowledge about personal care and different methods and techniques that someone that doesn’t have my experience would have. I am very hard working. Capable of doing almost any task. I have worked in different settings before such as nursing homes, group home and in home service. I am open to lots of opportunity and ready to take up any challenge. I am a very happy person and stay happy no matter my surroundings. My friends would describe me as a fun loving person.

I am currently studying Health Care Administration (online) at Concordia University. I love being able to help people and make differences in people's lives, whether big or small. Families in Minnesota, FYI, just a heads up about the new Home care laws: Think twice before hiring a caregiver without the supervision of a licensed agency in Minnesota. The State of Minnesota requires any unlicensed direct caregivers (including Certified Nursing Assistants) to have a license...please be sure to check that this is in place prior to hiring them. Why did I become a Caregiver? I have been gifted with Compassion and Empathy. My diverse life experiences have allowed me to care for people with Dignity and Grace. I see those I care for as a whole person not Just their disease, disability or situation. During my hands on experience in Group Homes, One on One companionship, Private CNA Caregiver, Nursing Home and Nanny experience. I have acquired many skills and tools that have allowed me to care for others with dignity and grace. Despite their dementia, schizophrenia, autism, Asperger's, or mental illness. The Individuals I care for celebrate this person-centered care. I see and respect them as the most important person in my Now. A personal achievement I am proud of is my Patience, Love and Understanding. My ability to adapt quickly. I moved to Florida three summers ago from Minnesota. I have yet to get used to the Florida summers. However, I do enjoy and embrace the Flora, Foliage and Fauna. I see something new everyday. My new favorite Florida bird is the Painted Bunting. I received my CNA/ HHA certification and would like to pursue a position in the nursing/caregiving field. I am also certified in first aid and CPR. I have attended skills USA for 2 years and have competed in medical competitions with winning awards and scholarships.

For the past 13 years i have been always passionate about helping others in need ,always giving when i dont even realize it. I have also been helping my grandmother since her heart attack in front of me when then made me want to take classes I am a registered nursing assistant, have my cpr,aed,firdt aide and first responder license. I take great care in people around me at all times.

I don't think I became a caregiver, I think I was born to be one, it is just a natural instinct I have. Being a caregiver is the most rewarding job anyone could have, there is nothing more satisfying than helping someone else. I recently went back to school. I just recently changed my career path, my children are grown and I would like to do what I have always wanted to do. Become a nurse.

I love caregiving because of the relationships I get to build with my clients. I am honored to work with vulnerable populations. Working in a caregiving role fosters compassion, patience, and kindness in a way that most people never get to acquire.
