What makes me a great caregiver to me are I will go above and beyond for my residents a are whomever I work for. I am a perfectionist down to the last detail. What 1st attracted me to being a caregiver was my Grandmother she was an LPN up until her 2nd Surgery and was very proud of beinging an LPN. What solidified my beinging a caregiver are a CNA was my oldest son which put me in the role early on of becoming a caregiver He was had to have several surgeries do to a rare Gastrointestinal situation which caused him to be on An IV at all times, a feeding tube and a colostomy Bag for while but not anymore he is 16 now and will be celebrating 17 years of life in 6 month with none of the above. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is simply just the pure love of being able to help someone out period. Being able to see my 1st patient my oldest son see 16 and knowing it was partly my aiding in his care that got him to this milestone in his life is my personal achievement.

Hello my name is Nyesha Ajiboye, I have been a caregiver for 6+years. I began cargiving because I have a passion for helping people. I also began this journey because I had helped care for my mother before she passed away 16years ago, and the aids she had enspired me to want to help other families get through those hard times. I believe the empathy I have for others in their time of distress aids in me keeping my cool when I encounter stressful situations at work. For example when I encounter racial slurrs during care for a resident with dementia, I understand that they may have lived in a time where racism was acceptable. With that understanding I know that it is not something I should not be offended by, and I can continue working with them with a calm head. I feel I am a good caregiver because I love to help people however I can.
