I currently work at a nursing facility and I have a fan base there!! I can tell if I'm away for to long cause they are always asking other caregivers where is Lisa? When is SHE scheduled to return? When I do report to work, I'm always given hugs and words of appreciation. It's a good feeling. Going out of my way for a person is no big deal. It's needed sometimes cause your clients are your family too.

What makes me a great caregiver is my passion to work with others. I love taking care of all types of people no matter the circumstances. I love being a caregiver because I get to make new family memebers and make them feel like they have another person they can depend upon. My name is Courtney Adams. I am a mother of 2 and a wonderful aid. I am a only child and my generation of family is a lot older. Growing up most of them opt to pass away at home leaving my grandmother, my mother and myself to care and comfort them. Then I knew that I was born to be a caregiver and a nurtured nurtueror. I have been a paid at a couple of hospitals and various long term care, rehab, hospice and assisted living facilites. My greatest accomplishment as a aid is seeing the faces of patients and family when I have made a patient feel better, or brought a patients pulse back. I have been a caregiver for 15+ years fresh out of high school. I became a cargiver because my grandmother had took ill and developed dementia. My family and I took alot of time to care for her in the comfort of her own home until she departed in 2009. I knew that i wanted to be a caregiver because caring for people is my life I enjoy being able to put others and meet their needs before my own. Being a caregiver was not always easy and through out the years I have learned to be compassionate, caring, loving and also very giving. And through out the years I have further my education and I have more than one certification that I can provide care for.

Am a very compassionate person good listener even when i was a child there was something that drove me to Elder people and the sick it didn't matter rather old or young. My heart was there i do whatever i could to help. I lose my grandma to cancer. I was very young i remember standing by her bed when i was a child watching over her running out to catch my school bus with tears in my eyes peoples like doing different thing. It my calling from the lord to help i love doing. Being a care giver ever client i ever had was proud of me so i must be doing something good. It give me joy to be able to help put a smile on some one face. That give me joy to make someone smile it really. I was raised with my morther an grandparents so it all came very naturally. From dealing with my grandmom epilepsy are my Papa Parkison in dementia I learned very quick what to do and what not at very young age. My motto is you treat others the way you won't to be treated.
