Honestly, I've always had a giving personality and I like helping people. But I'd love to tell you a story, which really helped me make this decision. When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother was left alone. Plus, her arthritis was starting to worsen, and she began having more and more trouble preparing her meals, bathing, and getting her groceries. So we found her a caregiver and she was absolutely amazing! She stayed with my grandma for longer hours than expected, while telling stories about growing up in Europe. That was very soothing for my grandma, and that caregiver inspired me to join this field. I really try to get to know my patients. I ask a lot of questions. I ask about their feelings and if they're dealing with weighty emotions, like sadness, anger, or anxiety. I listen as much as possible and tell them they can talk to me about anything without worry. I try building trust, and it's a gradual process, but I do my best to get there.

I am 40 years old. I have been a Cna for the last 20 years. I started off being a caregiver for my grandmother and after she passed away I got my Cna so that I could help others!

Hello my name is Mayra Vallejo. I became a CNA because working for somebody that needs love and attention satisfies my soul. After my first job as a caregiver to my father-in-law, I knew this was the work I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I'm a very patient person I have intuition towards peoples needs and wants. Being compassionate towards others is always my first priority. I do not have a ton of experience that I wish I had but the little that I have pushes me to keep doing what my heart desires and that is caring for others. I enjoy knowing that I have made someone happy and give the families a peace of mind that their loved ones are in ther right hands. I have several personal achievements that I'm proud of; 1. Having 3 adorable children, I consider myself very blessed to have them in my life. 2. Attaining my CNA license, this made my parents and children very proud of me after a few setbacks in life. 3. I love taking care of people ever since my dad got sick with cancer when I was a teenager my heart went out to other people an there family's that has to work an want there love ones at home that's when I Started working for other family's I have very good references and a great background recorded I hav my own car with full coverage insurance I love taking the elderly to there appts or to the beauty shop I will take great care of them I've also worked thru a company out of Louisville ms for bout a year that will give me a great reference to I clean up an prepare there mills I no how to give there medication because I went to CNA class n Starkville ms thank you
