Hi my name is Andrekia Brown. To be a great caregiver you have to be confident in your work ethic. Be trustworthy to your clients and yourself. And always be attentive and show compassion to other's feelings and beliefs. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one on one interaction with others. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver I get to make an enormous difference in people's lives. I get to enjoy being a part of a new family and work from a home environment. A personal achievement I am proud of I just became certified to open my own childcare.

I have over 10 years of experience working as a caregiver. I'm easygoing , fun and loving individual. I started out with individuals with MR and IDD. Now I work with brain injury patients. No difference between every one being served deserves quality care and companionship.

I honestly never saw myself as becoming a caregiver. I am very energetic but at the same time I have a very laid back personality. I am very easy to get along with and enjoy meeting and getting to know new people. Most people would say I have a lot patience but I just try to treat people as I would want them to treat me. Back in 2010 I made a decision to move back to Halifax County to be closer to my aging but very active and healthy parents. Not long after the move, we made the decision to allow my intellectually challenged older brother to move in with me. I eventually had to became more active with helping my dad as he started to have health problems and almost simultaneously, my brother's health began to decline. Unfortunately back in 2017, I lost both my dad and brother. Being able to help them with their doctor appointments, medicine and other responsibilities such as hygiene and bathing when it came to my brother, was hard work but an honor. So many people have so many responsibilities that they are not in a position to be a caregiver to their family members when in need. I can truly say from experience it is very rewarding duty. It would be fair to say my experience with my family attracted me to becoming a caregiver. Since, the passing of my brother and father I help my mother out a great deal and having been working with individuals who are intellectually challenged, autistic and deal with various health issues. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the opportunity to treat and assist a person in need with dignity. This many times is not how we hear people are treated. So the chance to treat someone who may just need a little help or a lot, with dignity and respect is an opportunity and privilege for me. Everyone is someone's mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son. Being able to help my father remain mostly independent in his final years is probably my greatest achievement and honor.

I love helping people. That I get to help make a difference in people lives. That I can actually see the positive affect that I have made in helping people reach their goals and be able to live independently. I'm a honest and responsible caring professional and have loved taking care of people for over 15 years.

I am a very compassionate person I enjoy taking care of people I'm very reliable I am where I need to be when I need to be there,My passion has been always to take care of people in the health field,I really enjoy doing what I do my satisfaction is knowing I am making a difference in someone's life.

Hi, I'm Tammi Jo and I am a single mother of two amazing boys ages 8 and 3. I believe my most useful quality to help aid in this role are patience and kindness. In my previous role as a caregiver in a group home for mentally disabled adults, I was frequently the only attending caregiver on my shift. With each patient I always showed them kindness and patience, and as a result, they would always make it know to me as their caregiver that I was what they looked forward to most often.

I'm a Sweet and caring person who likes to help people. I decided to be a pca after watch my mom take care of my dad. She inspired me. The thing I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the satisfaction of knowing that I helped make someone's life a little easier. Or made there day by just being a listening ear or just a calm and caring presence. I'm so proud of my self for sticking to this far a year and 6 months.!
