Hello my name is Kashina Williams but I go by Kira. I have been working in healthcare for almost 7 years. I have also took care of my grandmother from the age of 8 up until recently last year. Her experience as a MD taught me everything I needed to know when it comes to taking care of those who are in need. Nothing matters more to me than to making the individual I'm caring for comfortable, safe, and healthy.

I have been in the medical field for over 30 years. Over the years I have worked in Hospitals, Doctors offices, Outpatient Clinics, Homeless shelters and Home health private care. I've enjoyed working with patients of all ages that have had all different kinds of health concerns. The best part about Home health care is that you have more time to build a one on one relationship with your patient. Being a caregiver has taught me that being humble and treating everyone how you would like to be treated is one of the most important beliefs to have.

I love the elderly. I have been in love with classic movies since I was a teen. Edward G Robinson, Joan Crawford, Barbara Stanwyck just to name a few are my favorite actors. These people lived in that era and they possess a wealth of wisdom. I love listening to them and worked as a certified nursing asst. in a day program for Alzheimer and dementia patients for 4 years.. I left being a care giver for quite some time and ran a successful daycare which was featured on a program called the visionaries on PBS and seen all over the world. I won the home based small business administration award and was asked to say a speech and introduce Hillary Clinton. I recently moved to North Carolina Fort Bragg area after briefly working at the Arturo Shromberg senior citizens center in the Bronx NY. I really made some wonderful connections with the people there. I truly believe that the love and kindness I feel toward the elderly is a direct extension of the love I had for my own mom whom I lost a short while ago and that someday I will reap that kindness when I myself reach my golden years. I want to leave some good memories in the hearts of those I care for! I am thankful for those years I had helping to train the next generation and have just completed my training for my hha certificate to prepare me once again to work with the elderly. I am just a few credits from completing my associates degree in accounting and then I hope to go on for my bachelor's degree.
