Hello my name is Amy Harrison. I am an RBT and currently reside in Salisbury, NC. I am currently working towards my PhD in Education. I just finished my nurse aide class at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College with an A average. I received my Masters of Education degree in 2021 with a specialization in early childhood education. Since 2014 I have held numerous roles working with children and the elderly. These roles have ranged from after school counselor/site director, lead teacher, behavior technician, online ESL teacher, Direct Support Professional, Home Health Aide, Temporary Nurse Aide, Care Pro, Care Manager, Care Associate and Nurse Aide. I am looking forward to being a part of the team.

I have lived in the Elkin area all my life and have only recently gotten into caregiving. I was drawn towards this field when caring for my elderly grandmother and helping my mom through two knee replacements. My goal is to care for every client like they were my own family member. My favorite part about caregiving is the smile on the clients face when they see me come in.

I pay close attention to details, follow directions carefully, and work to help the home feel calm, organized, and comfortable. My support can include helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, light tidying of the client's area, running errands, going along to doctor's appointments, and being a pleasant, steady presence in the home. I also know that sometimes a person needs more than physical help. They may need good company, patience, kind conversation, and someone who helps the day feel easier and more enjoyable. I truly enjoy giving that kind of support. I also understand the importance of watching carefully and communicating well. Families want to know that their loved one is being treated with dignity and proper care. I believe in being reliable, keeping clear notes, and making sure the family has peace of mind. Trust means a great deal in this kind of work. One of the things I am most proud of is being known as dependable and trustworthy. I come to work on time, stay focused, and give my best effort. I want families to feel comfortable knowing that the person in their home is someone who will carry herself with professionalism, kindness, and good judgment.
