I became a caregiver because I was able to take care of my sick mother home for 4 years until it turned into Hospice care at my home. I am trustworthy with training, education, and guidance with caring for families , so they will receive emotional support and are comfortable in their environment. My compassion for patients allows me to have understanding and be attentive to their needs. I will follow set rules be punctual, and show good time - management. I am 22 years old. I graduated from North Carolina Central University with my Bachelors in Criminal Justice. I found a passion for working with the elderly when I took on the role I have now with RSI. Not just caring for them, but I loved seeing me make an impact on their lives. I love that they wait for me at the door when I'm coming into work & how much they love to be around me. I am young and I love the fact that I can help the older generation with my bright personality and attitude. I am really proud of teaching one of my nonverbal residents sign language. He now can sign a couple phrases to communicate with me.

I have been working with elderly folks since 2011, as a private sitter. I have experience in bathing, grooming, feeding transferring and etc. I choose to do this because I love helping others that may have limits to what they can do on their own.

Hello! Thank you for clicking on my profile. My name is Ashlei Smith and I'm a 27 y.o. RN with my BSN from Wayne State University. I decided on health care because no other job sector allows me to radiate my true passion for caring for others. I was a programmer analyst for Keybank, sitting behind a computer just miserable because of lack of human interaction. I had my daughter in 2015 and the amount of time and energy I put into her care made me feel so amazing that I decided I had to do this the rest of my life. "This" being caring for others. It sounds so strange to say but my current residents say to me so astounded at times, "You know...you really care." I know why they say that. In this world we live in people do only what they have to and then they're done with it. I truly am one of a kind and my level of care is exceptional. I am thorough in my care and also efficient with my time. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is knowing that I made another person feel comfortable and took some of the stress that life throws at them away.

As a teenager when I used to care for my grandmother I always knew that I wanted to be a caregiver. I have been certified as a nursing assistant since June 2001. I love helping people because it's so rewarding. I just received my certification as CNA II May 2014. I am also CPR certified. I am the most kindest person you will ever meet and I love my job as a caregiver.
