I am 21 years old, I've been a CNA for 3 years with previous experience as a PCA. I enjoy working with clients and making them feel safe and comfortable with me.

I became a caregiver after my grandfather had cancer and passed away. My Mom said that I was really good with taking care of people that were elderly. I feel as though I am wise for my age, and would rather be around the elderly and have a conversation than with those of my own age. I love giving back. I get far more out of it than they do. When I leave and go home, I feel like I did something special that day, I cared for another person. That means a lot to me. One of the traits I have that make me a good caregiver is that I am very detail oriented. I follow through completely until the job is done. I do not rush. I have been working with special needs individuals, the elderly and vulnerable, and those with physical disabilities for over ten years. I enjoy my job and take pride in my work, and it is apparent in the quality of care I provide. I have an Associates Degree in Psychology, a Bachelors in Human Services, and am also a NC Board Certified Human Services Practitioner, with multiple certifications working with special populations. I treat all consumers equally, but I have a special bond with those who have advanced dementia, or who are more noticeably on the spectrum. I am very nurturing with my clients, but make sure not to "baby them "- quite the opposite. I strive to include them, uplift them, and empower them, because so many of these populations are treated like a burden so much that they begin to believe it. Even something so small, such as helping me fold socks, would seem trivial to someone else...but being able to do something on their own and be independent is priceless. When someone asks what makes me happy, the answer is, making those around me happy, and my clients have Always been happy with the care I provide them, and so is my mother company, Eldercare. And that is why I am EXCELLENT at what I do- I don't just come to work and wait for it to be over. I enjoy the time I have with my clients, and because I show it so transparently, they enjoy the time with me as well.
