I became a caregiver 20 plus years ago because I like working with people and I like making a difference in people's lives. it makes me really happy when I'm working with the elderly or just working with people in general when I know I make a difference in their life. I'm a mom of 4, so, I'm a patient, kind and very friendly person, with the ability to care of others with love. I am very proactive, intelligent and dedicated. I characterize myself both professionally and personally by always trying to do things the best way possible, without mediocrity. My experience as a mom, housewife and professionally as a Doctor in Colombia (my country of origin) give me a plus on taking care of others who needs. What attracted me to being a caregiver is first of all the satisfaction of being able to help someone and secondly the possibility of having my own schedule, to be able to continue taking care of my home and my children. I became a caregiver because I believe what goes around comes around and I will be in their shoes some day and want to receive the care that I give to the elderly. I am always smiling and just a people person and give the elderly the time and care they deserve. I am an older woman that found my dream job. I was a stay at home mom for many years and just found that I had more to give once my children were out on their own. So I decided to go back to school in the medical field.

I have become, what I consider myself to be, an amazing caregiver. I have a huge heart and i tend to put everyone I care for above and beyond everything else. I listen carefully to peoples needs as well as wants and do my very best to provide what is expected by them or the families NO QUESTION. I decided I wanted to be a caregiver at a young age. My grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and everyone in my family brushed it off as just 'old age'. Well, I wanted to learn more about this dementia and see what I could do to help better her life and the lives of others in this predicament. What I am proud of most is all the positive feedback from families as well as co-workers, managers included, about how great I am and how lucky a place or family is to have me. I have many personal achievements but the one I am most proud of, is I will ALWAYS and forever as long as I am caring for loved ones of my own or others, put quality over quantity. I have learned that people need good care no matter the life span, young or old.

I love being there for people who need day to day help whether it's just to talk or run errands .i have worked both in nursing homes as well as home care and extremely enjoy the quality time you are able to spend with ones who need help.
