The first thing about being a great caregiver is to listen to your client and to be patient at the same time your patience will always be comfortable talking to you I became a caregiver for my grandmother that open the door for taking care of others one of the things that I enjoy most about being a caregiver is how exciting your client feels when you come to see them it's almost like two friends having tea and challah bread one of the things that I achieve in the work that I do is how I'm able to communicate with my clients even if it is a hospice care I take great pride in what I do and I always remember getting sick and aging can happen to anyone you're not above it so you treat people with respect and hope for the same when it is your turn.

I have been a home health aide for over 13 yrs now, I have worked with all kinds of patients in both homes, hospitals and nursing facilities. since young I told my granny I would take care of her when she got older. As she got older she forgot alot sometimes even my name calling me other grandchildren name but she always reminded me that I told her I would take care of her and would ask when was I coming to stay with her. Not wanting to leave NY yet I kept telling her "granny im coming don't worry, il be there soon." Until soon never happened because I took time for granted selfishly thinking she had years more to live. Beating myself up for not fulfilling my promise I made a promise to myself that although I never made it to physically take care of my granny I will make it my duty to help someone elses in any way possible. I have a big heart and caring nature as you may see from my work experience children and elders have a soft spot in my heart. Since i made that promise in 2014 i have been successfully accomplishing it. Knowing someone is depending on me to make their day better makes me full of joy.
