I was a CNA for 6 yrs in an assisted living home/ long term facilities. I did private care for a year then went to pharmacy for 9yrs. Being in pharmacy my CNA expired in 2007 i renewed it in May 2014. I worked for anagency from Feb 2014 till Oct then was in private care from Sept 2014-Jan 2015. I was called back to the job I worked @ 10 yrs ago now in the memory care unit as a CNA. I love the unit it's me & a nurse with 14 residents personal care, daily activities it's a quite & locked unit. I'm very organized a planner have lists & agendas, being a caregiver as in making a bed, to a shower or a grocery run makes me fill accomplished to do it for someone that can no longer or needs assistant doing it.

My personal achievements are I'm a proud mom of a great nineteen old young lady, I have an BA in Social work and I am working toward my masters in social work. I enjoy a simple life. I became a care giver to help others that are not able to help their selves, My daughter passed away in 2008 and I saw how the nursing staff made her so comfortable that I wanted to give that comfort back to some one else, what I enjoy about the care giver position, is that the joy you see on the faces of people who really appreciate your kindness. My most personal achievement that I am proud of is going back to school for my cna certification. I have experienced loss of a child, and still I am able to stand strong. I have a second child who is a honor student in her middle school, I feel that was quit an achievement on my part also. I have been in this profession for about two years working in different nursing home facilities but I feel one on one care would be a better fit for myself, I attended Boces technical career school in the year of 2012, Once finished the cna course of three months I started working for Ten Brock Commons in lake katrine Ny. From there I was hired at Golden Hill Nursing Home facility. Trying to find my fit in the facility industry that I also worked in the FernCliff Nursing Home also. I find myself at this point wanting to give private care a try.
