I believe what makes me a great caregiver is the experience I have. I have 5 years experience working for an agency and independently. I have significant experience with hospice care, dementia, Alzheimers , Parkinson's, COPD, cancers, companion care and the general everyday care of those that can't do things for themselves anymore like cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and showers. I always keep medical books in the homes of my clients/patients. On every shift I always take blood pressure , temperature and oxygen so that Vitals can be monitored regularly for any changes. The medical books will keep logs of daily living such as any Dr appointments, mood changes, medications, vitals, daily diet and activities. It's important to catch/detect any change in health. Communication is big with me on keeping everyone on the same page so that the best care can be given at all times. I'm a registered health care aid, . CPR/First Aide certified. I became a health care aide because I believe our loved ones get better care at home from one on one care opposed to a nursing home.

I have been a care provider for about 18 years. I have taken care of my parents who were both disabled and terminally ill. I have expertise helping with individuals that are elderly dementia, disabled. I have worked at numerous facilities. I have expertise with developmentally disabled adults and children. I am currently working with special need children (autism). I also currently work with the elderly helping with daily living,from showering feeding to bathing and running errands. I have a great heart and treat my clients as I would want someone to treat my family members. I hope I get the chance to show you my skills.

I have worked for my current employer for 21 years, assisting individuals with a diagnosed mental illness, in both an inpatient, hospital setting and an outpatient residential setting. I enjoy working with the individuals we serve, assisting with activities of daily living as needed, case management services, medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and scheduling and transporting to appointments. My husband is retired from the US Air Force, and recently from the NY State Troopers. We are looking to relocate to the Goose Creek are in South Carolina. I am looking to continue working in a care giver position, as this has been my passion for many years. I enjoy helping individuals live to the best of their abilities, and providing the care and assistance to achieve this.

I enjoy listening to peoples people's stories and meeting new people would be a trait. Knowing that the comfort of ones home is where they would rather be and they need care , attracts me to being a caregiver. I decided to become a caregiver because growing up my grandmother had early onset Alzheimer's, I watched how her caregivers supported her but our family as well. I started working at an assisted living facility during college and then transitioned into home care. I feel like often times when being a caregiver you are meeting someone at a challenging point in their life. It takes understanding, patience, kindness. I enjoy being part of a team that can make the transition of needing care not only easier on the families but as easy as possible for the person needing care.
