I am a single mother with one kid. Certified in home health aid, first aid and CPR for 3+ years. I also go to school full-time and will be a registered nurse in 2017. I work for a care-giving agency, but with my schedule things don't work out since I need more hours. I was a private caregiver before I started agency work and that worked perfectly. I have worked with people helping with their physical and occupational therapy, blood pressure recording, sugar monitoring, dementia and Alzheimer, oxygen, Nebulizer, incontinence, disabled, amputee, medication reminders, I also include house keeping, meal preparation and companionship. What makes me a great caregiver is the fact that I give the kind of care that I myself would want to receive. I believe everyone wants and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I wanted to become a caregiver after watching how my moms caregiver took such awesome care of her, she was so good I wished I could send her to everyone's mom but since I couldn't do that I decided to make other families feel like she made ours feel...completely at ease! In my time off I like going to church, spending time fishing with my husband and spoiling my grandkids, and shopping!

Every since I was a child I have always had a want when it came to helping people and making them happy.when I was 17 years old I began training at Wellington manor to become a state certified nurse aid and worked there for almost three years then I worked a year at community multicare, and Terri years with a home health agency called family serves. Then I had children and stayed home for ten years with my children and baby say two special needs children.my first job when I returned fyi work was care givers for independence which was working with people with disabilities. I am currently in college fit a bachelors degree and hippie to be in a manager position in the health field in my future.I love being a care giver and makes me feel happy to assist others to keep them at home healthy and happy.

What makes me a great caregiver, would be my work ethic. I'm professional, caring, tender, and I love being that void in my residents life putting them first and taking excellent care of them. I became a caregiver because of my dad. As a child, growing up I watched my dad constantly help others and I never understood his satisfaction, until one day he told me to understand the satisfying fact of helping others you have to one day experience it yourself, which made me lean towards nursing. ever since I've been in this field I've not only grown to understand the satisfaction of helping others but I have also touched residents heart in helping feel that void, rather its just being an ear, or taking care of them as if they were my own family member. What I like most about being a STNA/PCA, I would have to say are helping the elderly, as well as my patients themselves. Although I can't put myself in their shoes and give false hope, nursing is my compassion it's not necessarily all about the pay but being able to touch someone else's heart means the most to me. I use to sit and watch the residents who family threw them in the nursing home, watch other residents interact with their families and it bottled me because its like negligence to me, I can understand that some situations whether it's dementia, or Alzheimer's can become hard to deal with , but I like being that void because I know that resident could be wishing and thinking they had someone come visit them everyday and I mad

I am exceptionally well at taking care of people as well as giving care and sympathy as well as keeping the family and patient upbeat and positive. I am a natural-born caregiver and have always felt the need to nurture and care for others I have excelled in the fields that I have chosen a state tested nursing assistant as well as home health aide and hospice care. I started in this field due to the fact that my grandfather was having some health issues, I realized how much it meant to me to take care of people and how good I was at it. I decided this is what I wanted in life and I enjoy helping people.
