I feel what makes me a great caregiver are a few reasons: I'm experienced in this field, I'm patient and I know what to expect and how to handle whatever occurs from the job. I became a caregiver because it was similar to the very first job I had, which was a patient attendant at U of M Hospital, that was a rewarding job that I enjoyed, and ever since then I've been in this field most of my time working. I like being a caregiver because I like helping people, and the job is very rewarding despite things that may occur on the job. I have my CNA diploma.

I have a wonderful personality. I have a Big family with lots of nephews and nieces that I enjoy spending time with. I'm very reliable, responsible and I take caring for others very seriously. I've also had elder care experience for 5+ years where are became a manager.

I'm a very easy going, compassionate person who enjoys getting to know new people. Its my belief that when working side by side together we can accomplish a better quality of life . I not only enjoy assisting individuals with daily needs but also look forward to connecting on a personal level. Caregiving has always been a natural part of who I am as I've taken care of family and friends most all of my life, making it an easy job choice. I always new I wanted to be a caregiver at a very young age . My grandmother would help all the elderly in the neighborhood and I tagged along to help . From high school I went to Owens college for my certification to become an Aide . I've learned through years of experience to blend in the ways of caring to becoming friends with the patient. Learning their life and what is their routine , what they like or dislike. Keep moving ( move it or lose it ) daily range of motion and exercise is important,.Keep living and enjoy what you can . Over 28 years of caring for people ,I became friends with so many family's that I still have contact with and referrals from their family and friends.

A good caregiver is attentive and responds to situations in a timely manner. A patient, especially the elderly, needs constant care and attention. I have been working with the elderly for several years and I am a Good caregiver. I enjoy working with people I enjoy making my clients laugh and most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoy taking care of elder family members and would like to help others in this way.

Hi my name is Pam I became a caregiver back in 2013. I was working as an aide with special needs kids. The child that I was working with had Down Syndrome. Her parents ask me if I would apply through the state and become her caregiver at home so I did. While working with her I received a call from an Independent Provider who was looking for someone to fill in hours to cover shifts. He explained that I would be taking care of two brothers that had Friedreich's Ataxia. Both brothers were very dependent on me to assist them with daily living skills. This is how I became a caregiver. I love being a caregiver. I love the fact that I get to make a difference in some ones life. While working with kids I get to see them grow and become more independent. To know that I had a part in that makes me happy. While working with adults and Seniors I get to help them do things that they just can not do on their own anymore, be a companion, and be a comfort. To me it is a blessing to help make their world a little easier. Somethings that make me a great caregiver are I am dependable. In my three years I have never called off sick one time or never not shown up for my clients. I am organized, I go above and beyond, have good communication skills, show empathy and I put others first. One proud personal achievement I have is I just became an STNA. I was not sure how I would do since I have not been in school for over 20 years but I did it. Now I am hoping to go back to school with in one year for nursing.
