My name is Escherica Medley and I am using this medium to apply for the job position and give you a little more information on my qualifications. Flexible, compassionate, and energetic are three words that describe me very well. I was born to help people. I've always wanted to work at a place where I have the ability to make people feel better with my words, actions, and positive attitude. I don't mind working hard physically and emotionally, because I know that I am making a difference in the lives of others. I understand that having dementia or conditions/ disabilities can be extremely stressful, so I am sensitive in my interactions with patients and know how to manage my frustration when patients are unintentionally difficult to deal with. When I communicate, I am patient and positive (especially in my body language). I have both professional and personal experience working in the health care field. In 2006 I attended STNA classes in Independence, Ohio. I then worked at University hospital in the research development department for 2 years. In 2010 I moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida to take care of my grandfather who had been placed on hospice. After he returned from the hospital I moved in with him and attended to his needs. I Scheduled doctors appointments, cleaned, cooked, grocery shopped, preps meals for the week, created food menu, assisted with ambulation, as well as many other activities of daily living. After a few weeks my grandfather's health returned.

I have been a caregiver for a while I started out in homecare which I love the most, from there I went to assisted living and long term care dementia unit, I love my job and love being able to provide the quality of care that people need.

I became a caregiver because I get joy from helping others, I can't see myself doing anything else.
