As a caregiver, I've always had a heart of service. I had received an Excellence In Action award from Union City Police for preforming CPR & First-Aid on a kid that had a pre-existing heart condition. I was taught CPR in a class that was mandatory for my job teaching Pre-K not knowing how soon I would have to use this new skill. But after that day, I realized how important it was to step up to the plate and be the one to take action. It has to be one of my most proud moments.

Along with my southern cooking my professional training in sanitizing sterilization I learned from my medical profession. I also am a great listener and love playing puzzles and great with recreational arts and craft. Being that I love to be organized and wouldn't have it any other way. I have working in healthcare for 9 years in various settings and over this time I have been told that I am a very caring and nurturing person. I genuinely love caring for other people. I know that compassion, trust, and dedication is so important in this line of work and I want to always set an example of what caregiving should look like. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the relationships I have been able to build with my clients and their family's. I have had extensive training comparison to many other caregivers. (I have attended nursing school but have not completed). I have training in tube feedings, catheter care, oxygen/ medication administration (pharmacology), wound care, transfers, anatomy&psychology, mental health, and clinical rotation in med surg.

I am a newly certified CNA who is also going to OCCC to obtain my B.N. I would love to work as a caregiver while achieving my education.

I have been a Cna for 10 years. It kind of runs in the family actually. It started when I took care of my Dad the last years of his life. He had diabetes, Parkinson's, dementia, kidney failure due to the diabetes, and some other medical conditions. I have always loved taking care of people. A good motto I go by is "quality over quantity". It is about the care, the smiles, and the little things with my patients/clients. Keeping them home as long as possible is always the goal.

My name is Brianna and I have been a caregiver through a company for 2 and a half years and a private duty caregiver for 1 year and a half. Caregiving is not only a job to me, I care about each and everyone of my clients I have ever taken care of, they are all special to me in one unique way or another. I don't look at these people as if they are leaving us I strive to make them feel as if they are getting better and making a difference in their life is a plus for me. What attracted me to being a caregiver is the feeling I get when I help others. I'm not only proud of my clients progress but proud of myself because I helped to reach that goal.

I am a CNA and CHHA with 18 years experience. I became a health care aide because I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I started off as a CNA only but I wanted to do something that was more personable to an individual so I acquired my CHHA. And in doing so I was able to start my career off working for a hospice. By my starting that way, it gave me compassion on a whole different level. I worked as a shower aide for home health as well as hospice,going out to individuals homes for about 12 years. I later decided to experience different things, giving me a much more vast range of experience. I have work in Long-Term Care, skilled unit, Home health, hospice, rehabilitation, respite care, comfort Care, private duty, memory Care, elderly group home, and companion care. I have enjoyed every range of care that I have experienced being a part of. I enjoy helping others and just being able to give my client something to look forward to. Also, I realize that everyone is an individual so I try to treat a client based on their personality, including things that know that they enjoy. I use those things to help me when engaging with the client, as well as adding to the quality of care and quality of a client's life in general!
