I've always loved taking care of my elders! I took care of my grandmother for 2 years in 2008-2010, because my grandmother started having strokes after she got done with chemotherapy and radiation. I helped my grandmother to roll over to get comfortable, helped her get on the commode, helped her sit on the side of the bed, helped her to get drinks and fed her. My grandmother died in Feb 2010 due to a massive stroke. That's why I got my CNA because I absolutely loved it when I took care of my grandmother. I have a big heart to love and take care of my elderly clients. I'm very compassionate, very out going, very caring, and very respectful to everyone, and I get along great with other people.

I became a caregiver because I love helping others and making their lives better. I am proud of my goal achievements. My dreams were always to be a caregiver and after 3 yrs of working all day and going to school at night, while being a single mom, I became a preschool teacher/director. After I moved to Oklahoma, I redirected my profession to medical caregiving. I am a caring and compassionate person with a passion for helping others. I have been a CNA since Jan 2013. I have worked in hospitals and done home health. I love the experience the hospitals have given me, as I mostly worked the float pool, giving me a variety of experience in the healthcare field. I've worked in healthcare for over 14 years, I love being able to bond and connect with seniors. I also have two elderly parents and that really drew me into wanting to work in this area of healthcare.

My Name is Crystal Beard, I decided to become a care giver after the birth of my third child, I wanted to be the mother my kids could look up to. A mom who has a great career. So 1992 I saw a advertisement about being a caregiver and that's when I decided to go to school to become a certified nursing assistant. I have been a care giver for 23 years and I feel what makes me a great caregiver is I have seen parents, children, aunts, uncles and other loved ones put into nursing homes and been forgotten and mistreated and I knew that I would never want my mom or loved one to be in that situation. So I treat my clients as I would want my family member to be treated with respect and dignity. I love being a caregiver because each and every person I have taken care of has taught me something. I have learned to be patient and respectful. I have learned to love, laugh, and cry. I have learned cultures and different ways people live. I take each experience as a new chapter in my life.
