I became a caregiver because, I love to work with people. I like being a caregiver, because it is very rewarding. I am proud to have gotten my CNA and CNA 2. I love to work with home/ health and hospice the most. I have worked with many hospice patients and I am very good at working with the families of hospice patients too. My passion is hospice although I have worked with many kinds of patients. I have worked at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg for seven years, from 1997 to 2004. I have done private paid jobs and caregiving jobs. I have worked with dementia and Alzheimer patients, too. It doesn't matter what kind of patients I work with, because I have a passion for nursing. I am a very caring and have a bubbly personality and have excellent references.

I love working as a caregiver. I am from a small town in Kansas, and lived much of my early childhood helping to take care of my elderly family members, which lead me to healthcare after high school. After my great grandmothers had both passed from neurodegenerative disorders, I decided to take my education one step further and started working in mental health, where I learned about the effects of trauma on the brain and proper reactions to trauma. I most enjoy being a caregiver because I know we all deserve to have someone who cares helping us, and who has the patience to step back and ask the important questions. I am proud of myself for getting myself through school and finding a way to move halfway across the country to find a place to truly call home.

I became a Caregiver/CNA because I love people, I love being of service and believe that every individual deserves to live the best life they can in any situation. I also know from personal experience having a care provider who takes the time to get to know the individual being cared for and giving them their undivided attention makes a huge difference, and that's what I am about. I am compassionate, knowledgeable, intune with others needs, reliable, trustworthy, and treat my patience as I would my own family.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to look into my profile. I'm 21 years old and I've been a CNA/caregiver for about 4 years now. I've always been an empathetic and caring individual. I thrive in a work space that allows me to tend to the needs of others. What attracted me to being a caregiver for one, was my nana. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease a little after I was born. My only memories with her were when the disease progressed. She lost her speech abilities and lost her independence completely. Anytime I was with her my caregiving skills kicked in, it just came natural to me. I would watch movies by her side holding her hand even though she couldn't speak to me, I knew she felt me with her. I would watch as my aunt prepared her food and provided care for her. She was an inspiration to me and I knew that I wanted to help people like her. Another thing that attracted me to being a caregiver/CNA was my mom. She has been a CNA for 10 years and I would always go into her work and meet the people she was caring for and instantly knew that I wanted to help people too. A personal achievement that I am proud of is branching out of my comfort zone and attending college in Southern California all on my own. I attended National Holistic Institute and became a Massage Therapist which also brings me fulfillment in the way that caregiving does.
