I came to be in the healthcare field from my mom who was an RN and taking care of some of my immediate family and always been a caretaker. Since my 3+ years as an CNA I researched and met people on how I could bring the certification I received to others so traveled across the USA from NY to Idaho as an CNA in long term care facilities, also with private home care, because I want to give back to the Elderly. The experience of working with families, has given me a better perspective on life and the ability to handle any and all personalities, different levels of care, medical diagnosis. My professionalism is graceful and consistent with respect to whom I care for and their families.

I'm a very patient person that enjoys caring for others. I enjoy helping with housework and cooking. I've worked with some very difficult patients and have been able to build trust. Can work different shifts depending on need. I really enjoy helping people stay in there home as long as possible.

I feel me loving to help people. The fact that i pay close attention and enjoy meeting new people each day helps me to be a great health care provider. I became a cna because i wanted to be able to make a difference in peoples lives. When they have no hope id be there hope there motivation to keep going. One reason to continue to enjoy life .

I think that I'm a very good caregiver because I truly care about the people that I have the privilege of helping from day to day. I became a caregiver because l enjoy assisting people and l like to make their day a little easier and maybe a little more pleasant. I believe that seniors are special people and they deserve to be treated with tender care and respect. I'm proud to say that the seniors that I have worked for have become like family, and l consider this an achievement.

I spent some time caring for elderly women while in High School. It was during this time that I realized my passion for helping others. I thought that psychology would be the correct path for me, however I did not feel the same gratification as when I was helping those who could no longer care for themselves. Sixteen years ago, a friend of mine (that was a Certified Nurses Aide), recommended I might find the same fulfillment as she did in that field. I applied for hands on training at Briarcliff Pavilion where I learned the basics of becoming a Certified Caregiver. Since that time I have strived to help people fulfill their quality of life and provide support to their family and friends.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I am genuine at what I do. I became a caregiver because I enjoy helping people and making people happy. It makes me happy knowing I made someone's day and that I accomplished something. Seeing people smile makes me smile!

What I believe makes me a great caregiver is because what I lack in years of experience I make up in hard work, dedication and compassion. What made me decide to become a caregiver was a desire to help people, and also the idea that I could actually make a difference in people lives; whether it being as small as remembering that they prefer their coffee black or as significant as assisting them in their daily therapies so they can recover the best they can. What I like about being a caregiver is the simple fact that I can be a companion for those who may feel lost or forgot, a shoulder to cry on for those who are saddened or frustrated, and overall a reliable friend for anyone who needs one. A personal achievement I am proud of is earning my license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and sticking it out at my current job at a skilled nursing facility when the going got tough.
