I love to help others!!For 28 years it has brought me joy to know that I do something everyday that puts a smile on an individuals face. I'm giving back what was given to me, at sometime or another we all need someone to care for us so its my duty to give back. Raising my kids and finishing school so i could do what i love. I am a leader, and a team player, having thw chance to recruite great help also helped me understand what it was like working in the office and how hard it is at times to get good help for our lives loved ones so as long as I can I will help make it easier for everyone and I will not stand for abuse of any kind to anyone..

I became a caregiver to help my brother and his family. I have been blessed with help from people throughout my life and love when I have the opportunity to help others. I worked in a physical therapy clinic for 8 years and am an ACSM certified personal trainer starting an in-home personal training business. I believe my training and experience in both these fields will help me in my work as a caregiver.

I began my study in the science of nursing, applied myself academically, received scholarships and graduated with honors because I wanted a good job with the opportunity for growth and advancement. This is the statement many people use in the cover letter of a resume without understanding what it really means. During my tours of duty I had the pleasure of working with a diverse population of people who taught me everything I know today. I learned to listen, be prudent, patient, empathetic and humble, and build trusting relationships. I didn't learn this from professors in college, instructors during clinical rotations, nor preceptors who oriented me to a new health care position. I learned from our seniors who struggle with dementia, our children who struggle with genetic disease syndrome, and our family, friends and neighbors who struggle with mental illness. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work in the areas of geriatric, pediatric, and behavioral health nursing. The people in my care revealed to me without saying a word that the good job with the opportunity for growth and advancement that I was looking for was with me the whole time. I was the good job that needed to be done, and I have people like your loved ones to thank for that. Early in my career as a registered nurse I decided to focus on home care because it was depressing to be surrounded by sick people who had to wait for pain medication, and help with meals, bathing, grooming, and toileting, and I couldn't help all of them. Home care affords me the time to focus on my actual employer's business at hand. That is your loved one's needs and concerns. My greatest strength as a caregiver is the sincere compassion that I will devote to your loved one. My first experience in geriatric care came when my grandparents became ill and required a hospice nurse. Taking on that role allowed me to develop an intimate understanding of the personal needs of my patients, foremost among them being the dignity and respect with which I believe every human being has an inherent right to recieve throughout the later stages of life. I was honored to help facilitate a hospice plan that allowed my grandparents to live and ultimately pass away in the home that they shared together, regardless of their advanced illness. I am proud to say that I am staunchly committed to bringing the same level of dedicated quality of care to all of my patients. I treat each individual under my care as if they were my own family, and pledge to do more than simply attend to their physical and ambulatory needs - I always ensure that my charges are given attention and conversation; kept engaged in activities and pastimes that they enjoy in order to promote a happy and fulfilling lifestyle in spite of their individual limitations. Working with the elderly is a constant reminder to me that there's no acceptable reason that people shouldn't be empowered to live well and retain as much independence as possible as they age. I think one of my greatest traits that with my experience make me well qualified for the job is, compassion and patience. Because above all those are the two important things you need to have while working in the health care field, and I have learned both go a long way. I have been a personal care giver in many different enviroments/ to all ages of patients for the past 6 years, and the amount of different people you meet and just being able to be there when they need somebody/ help in any way is in my view the best part of the job.

I have been a caregiver for a while. I enjoy to help seniors and I realized that i can learn alot from them. The seniors I have been taking care of became like family to me. We builded a strong relationship. I feel very comfortable being a caregiver and I enjoy to be a companion to them.

One thing that attracted me to being a caregiver is that I absolutely love helping people and making them feel better. Seeing them have a good day helps me have a better day. Some of the traits that I have that help with this job is empathy. Empathy is a huge thing to have as a caregiver. Really, I absolutely love having a bond with my patients/residents. Seeing myself being able to help people and make their lives a little bit easier is what brings me to work. The one big achievement that I'm proud of is that I moved states away from my son to earn my state certifications.
