I became a caregiver because I have a passion for taking care of people. I helped my mother take care of my brother and sister and it became a part of who I am as a person. Patience, empathy, reliability and honesty are top traits that I have learned to go above and beyond expressing over the decade put into caring for others. My passion began as a teenager, watching my mother operate a day program for mentally and physically challenged adults. I would spend early dismissal days at the program learning how to care and support adults who needed an extra hand. As I matured and ventured out into different career areas, I always seemed to end up back where I was most fulfilled and happy, which is caregiving. The rewards are in the smiles, milestones reached and surpassed and the trust that I build with the individuals and their families. Caregiving has allowed me to travel the US and gain experience in many different settings, while being exposed to the various challenges and conditions others face in the world. Gaining knowledge from medical professionals of all walks and being able to utilize everything I have learned have all benefited those I care for and allowed me to excel at what I love.

I am a certified nursing assistant that loves my job. When I moved to Memphis in 2008, I was blessed to have an eighty nine year old patient on my wife's mail route that was put on hospice, I not only revived her as she say but I gave her that second wind by tending to all her needs while taking care of her in her neice home. I prepared her food with love, took her vitals, bathe her because she was an amputee that just needed a lot of attention. I cared for her from 9am- 9 pm seven days a week for four years and the only reason that I had to leave was because her neice lost her job and decided to put her in a nursing home because she could no longer afford the expense. It is times like these that makes me appreciate helping those who cannot help themselves.
