I've worked as a caregiver since I was 16 at first with my own family then with home health companies, living facilities, psych wards, hospitals. I have extensive experience with children and geriatrics.

Was a (HCA -Home Care Aide) with the state of Ca. Moved back to Murfreesboro. I am easy-going. Do not take things personal. Safety and observant caregiving is my first priority. Experience in ADL care, Dementia , Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, OT and PT exercise, and diabetes. I have been doing caregiving for 15 yrs. I have been in the healthcare field for 20 years. What attracted me to becoming a caregiver? I have always liked being around the elderly. I volunteered for meals on wheels for four years. And in those four years. I got a one on one experience of the needs of the elderly. I get to help the elderly keep their dignity and there Independence . And stay in their own home where they feel safe.

I have been a caregiver in some form for 36 years...to some this is a job..to me it's love..to me its giving someone a reason to fill like tomorrow can be better..its telling one with Dementia that your going to love them through those days they can't remember..this profession has taught that in 36 I could only hope someone could share the same with me...what I love most about being a caregiver is the smile on one's face at the end of the day..

I am very laid back n bubbly per say personal. I love to make the ones I am caring for happy n all aspects of life. Regardless of the care they may be required. I am a open book listener and live to hear stories of their life for I seem to learn alot of things thru doing so. I've always cared for my family and after losing so many of the people and family it just seemed to me that was my calling in life. So I became a CNA after loosing my mom n dad n grandmother for it was something I really enjoyed doing was caring for the ones whom couldn't care for them selves and making them feel like they still could per say. Let them still have their own dignity n life and be comfortable with the life they was having to live at that time. I really enjoy the most about caregiving and being in the field of nursing the fact that I can help someone in a very tough time in their life no matter the circumstance. I am personally proud of my achievements because I have made some really good friends and all became family per say while caring for their loved ones. And some I still communicate with to this day even after the loss of their loved ones. I have a letter of recommendation from the last family that I cared for during their time of losing their loved one. That means the world to me that I made someone's life alot easier for them during the time of transitioning and all.

I'm shalliah I'm 21 years old, I'm a very outing person, sweet, goofy & kind . .. I've been working as a caregiver for 21/2 years I didn't think I would like it . I must admit I love it, helping people who can't help their selves .

I am very passionate about senior care. I am very understanding of patients and their every day needs. I am also patient with them and take the time to help them and let them help themselves as much as they can or want to. I got interested in healthcare in high school and took the cna classes and fell in love with the environment and helping people as much as I can. I would love to do home health care type of jobs so I could spend more time with the patient.
