I decided to be a caregiver after my parents where sick, I wanted them to feel loved at all times when someone was caring for them. You have to have patience when caring for someone. I love listening to clients stories from when they were young.

I'm a very easy going person, I've been a CNA over 20 plus years. I treat my clients as though we're family or the way I want my mother to be treated. I am a student studying Occupational Therapy who is interested in working with older adults. While I was completing my undergraduate degree, I worked part-time as a CNA at a long-term care facility for 3 years and I absolutely loved the experience. I genuinely enjoy working with the older adult population. I feel that there is a lot I learn from the stories and life experiences that older adults have. I am currently only taking classes a few days a week which gives me some extra time to pick up a caregiver/companion job. My career as a caregiver began with taking care of both my parents. My father had cancer and my mother had dementia. I was working as well while taking care of my parents. After they passed away and in 2012 my job where I was working was outsourced, I decided I wanted to make a career of being a caregiver. I went to CTK Healthcare and Career Institute to obtain my CNA certification. Since 2013 to current I have worked privately and with agencies as a caregiver. My skills and duties are to perform light housekeeping, light meal preparations, assist with shower and dressing, medication reminders, assist with shopping for groceries and putting them away, assist with pet care, and companionship. I enjoy interacting with my clients and helping them have a safe, healthy , and clean environment to live in. I understand the challenges of caretaking as well as the stress of a loved one's health changes and needs changing from taking care of my parents. I find great joy in life being there for others and help make there day less stressful.

Hi, my name is Lisa Davis. I am a part-time student working full time. In Texas, I explored various environments and trends in the other industries continuing to develop the skills in my profession. Skills included continuous technology, customer service, and teamwork applications. While assessing the economy, I learned you could not be successful without constant learning. My nursing assistant training under the new COVID guidelines is the most recent education I completed. I became certified as a nursing assistant in December two-thousand and twenty. On October 15, 2021, I independently completed my NCPT4 certification, the national psychiatric technician level four. I am returning to my passion as an Activity Professional. As a current activity assistant and home health CNA, I continue to fine-tune my skills with updated programs and systems. My current employment in the professional activity field validates my passion for continuing on the track to an Activity Professional career. I am Joshlyn. I have been a private caretaker for several years. I have assisted patients with all aspects of daily care, including dressing/undressing, checking vital signs, bathing, personal hygiene, transferring to and from bed, skin care and various other duties. I have administered oral and IV medication as prescribed by an attending physician on a daily basis. I have maintained records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems, in order to report and discuss observations with family members and physicians. I accompany clients to doctors' offices and on other trips outside the home, providing transportation, assistance and companionship. I maintained sterile fields, application of dressings to a stage 4 decubitus ulcer. I assisted patients with basic activities of daily living, including changing of bed linens, washing laundry, preparing nutritious meals and doing basic housekeeping.
