Hello! If you are reading this, first I would like to say it's nice to informally make your acquaintance. I know it can be very hard to find the right caregiver for your loved one. I have a sister with Autism who is low functioning and it was very hard to find a trustworthy caregiver as my parents got older. But I do want to let you know it's possible. If given the chance I can ensure you that your loved one would be treated as if she/he were my own sister. My first job in Home Health Care was when I was 20 years old with a man who had cerebral palsy. Not only was I his caregiver but we became friends through that 3 year experience. And that is what your loved one needs not someone who will just do their duties and go home but someone who is looking to care, to love and to be a friend. Since Home Health Care I have stayed in the education system working with young adults and children with special needs, both with physical and mental disabilities. I have 9 years of professional experience but I have a lifetime of personal experience with my own sister. I can only say so much, but if given the opportunity to work with your loved one I can definitely show you more than I can say it. I wanted to become a caregiver because I wanted to help those who might not be able to help themselves for about 7 years I help both my grandparents with their daily needs and be able to make them happy. I want to be able to provide encouragement, happiness, and pride for any person I'm caring for. The most thing I enjoy the most about being a caregiver is the smile on the patient face. I would also like to add that I'm still in process of taking my cna test but they have the testing sites and locations close until further notice but I do have a class completion.
