I have experienced the loss of my mother to two horrible illnesses, pulmonary fibrosis and dementia. I watched my older sister become my mothers fulltime caregiver, and learned that everything done with tender love, care , and grace helps not only the patient, but also gives peace and comfort to those closest to them. Knowing that my mother was well taken care of gave me a big sense of peace and helped me enjoy her last moments knowing that she had the best care she could of ever had. With that being said, after much thought on how I can honor my mothers memory, I have decided that caring for someone else's loved one will give me joy and a sense of being a help to someone that needs it just like my mother did.
