About my self my name is Jose Bravo, i have had home health care before. Have dealt with children mostly with gtube feedings and administered meds. I have been working with elderly, children, and individuals who are mentally ill for 4 years; and it has been the most rewarding job I could've ever imagined. Working with a variety of individuals has taught me how to be open to new ideas; everyone learns differently, have their own capabilities, and how to adjust the care I provide to meet their needs. I assure to assist each person but still give them their own of freedom, I will respect their willpower to try to be independent as possible, but will be next to them to help them along the way. The most rewarding thing about being a caregiver has to be helping someone and seeing their progress along the way.

I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant at a nursing home as well as a rehab facility for the past year. I love what I do because I am able to use all my skills to help someone that really needs them. But at a facility I have 8-20 residents and not the time to get to know them as a person, but as a caregiver I am able to do that and more. I am a very patient person, always happy and a good listener. I am always complimented by my residents and administrators by my work and I always believe there is room for improvement.

My name is Mayra Acuna and I am 25 years old. I am going to school to become a DNP (Doctor of Science in Nursing- Nurse Practitioner). I love working as a caregiver because I can help patients become as independent as possible so that they can continue living their life to the best of their abilities. I chose this job because once I graduate as a doctor (which is a couple years away), I will be able to assist my patients better and give them the proper care because I have been in their homes and have seen how they truly live. I think that it is very important for a caregiver to show love, passion, and compassion toward what they do, and that is exactly how I feel with this job. When I say that I am a caregiver, I say it with pride. A lot of people may view this as a just another job but for me, this is more than just a job, it is a steppingstone to what I want to do as a career for the rest of my life. Therefore, I take every day seriously and I treat every patient with the love and respect that I would treat someone from my family.
