I became a caregiver because i have a heart for the elderly.What I like about being a caregiver is i feel like I have a purpose in life. I want to bring life and beauty to people's lives. I am a very experienced, dedicated, caring, compassionate, Certified Nursing Assistant with over seventeen years if experience in the healthcare field. I have worked with a wide variety of patient's of all ages, disabilities, and medical needs:: Alzheimer's, Dementia, Mental Health , Down Syndrome, Autism, Mental Retardation, Parkinson's , Hospice Patient's , or patients recovering from cancer treatments, heart attacks, strokes ,and major surgeries.. I have also worked in a variety of healthcare places such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, ,clients homes, group homes, physiatrist hospitals , drug treatment facilities, hospitals and emergency rooms . I plan on further my skills by becoming a (LVN) License Vocational Nurse, and will be attending classes in the fall . I am very well rehearsed in all First Responder roles such as CPR (child/ adult) First Aide, and Heimlich Maneuver. I have been taking these courses for over sixteen years and I'm very proficient and knowledgeable in the event these skills are needed,. I have had to resuscitate two of my prior clients over the years. All of my training and shots are current CPR/First Aide is up to date until 2023.

I am a compassionate and caring caregiver with patience and kindness toward all my patients. I became a caregiver/CNA because I enjoy helping people but there's a special place in my heart for the elderly. I enjoy being able to help my patients but I also enjoy having conversations with them and getting to know them. I am proud of my achievement of becoming a CNA 13 years ago and being awarded employee of the month during my time at hospice.

I retired in 2008 from VIHA in Canada. I was employed for 20 years as community health worker. I worked and cared for many different client needs over those years with special training by an RN if needed. I mostly worked with the elderly out in the community. Med reminders/ personal care etc./ meals. I work with MS/Alzheimer's/Parkinson's/Dementia/Palative/HIV/Hep C. Clients. Different types of duties passed down from an RN with specialized training wound care etc. Cleaning of oxygen machines and more. Recently I have taken some courses in recovery coach and intervention for drug and alcohol addictions. I currently work weekends graveyard shift at warrior's heart in Bandera TX. I currently have training for Blue step medication administering. 30 hours with relias online training. Current CPR/ immunizations up to date/ TB test neg. / Flu shot./Drug testing passed/Criminal record check none. I am a permanent resident of the USA. Unconditional permanent resident.

I've been a nurse for 10years. I have worked many varying and diverse clinical settings. Some of my work history includes geriatric care, wound care, diabetes management, Coumadin (pt/Inr) management, allergy shots, bone density tech, charge nurse including management of over 30 patients and 10 nursing assistants. Experience in receptionist, alcohol and drug rehabilitation. There's so much more to tell you about. I enjoy hiking, listening to music, singing, art, diy projects, decorating, fishing, trying new recipes and baking. I'm kind and a great listener. I understand that having companionship for the mind is as important as physical health. I'm super sweet and I'm excited for the opportunity to get to know a little more about you as well.

I have been doing private sitting for about 8 years now . I enjoy helping the elderly. It's nice to give back and help someone that has Lived there life. We all will grow old one day I hope I have someone like my self to take care of me. This type of work comes from your heart when taking care of an elder person. It's enjoyable to help and learn about someone new on each new job.
