Hi Ive been in the medical field in various levels of patient care over 35 years. I have prenursing training and education , Im a registered Phlebotomist and Medical Assistant, much more than a CNA. After caring for my 95 year old mom for 6 years; the realization needing an xtra hand, if nothing else to get a break , was challenging to locate a professional quality caregiver that actually knew what they were doing, and were reliable. It's important to have a good fit with your reliable caregiver. In order to achieve quality care, the well-being , help maintain as much independence as possible, and mentally stimulation; plus provide comfortably safe environment is crucial. I offer a variety of shifts, days, and nights, over-night and weekends /holidays stays, to assist, and provide that much needed break to the full time family caregivers. Especially if you are on your own and need a helping hand till you recover, I'm there for you. I enjoy making a difference helping those that really need it. Helping my patient feel comfortable and relaxed. Letting him or her tell stories about the past,love,kids, what it was like in the old days. Being there for them when they need me most. I became a professional caregiver after taking care of my mom for 10 years before she passed away and have been in the non medical home health industry for over 15 years. I have experience with hospice patients, colostomy patients, Alzheimer's and dementia, stroke patients, bed bound patients, those with feeding tubes and catheters, Parkinson's disease to name a few. One family even told me that had I not been their loved one's caregiver he would not have lived to see his birthday! He was a 9o year old hospice patient! What I like best about being a caregiver is providing companionship to the elderly and giving them something to smile about and want to continue living!
