I am enjoy helping others , it is my passion , I am currently enrolled in college as well bettering my skills to help others. I enjoy bringing joy to others lives and helping them enjoy their lives as well. I am patient and feel I can get along with most anyone no matter the circumstances .

I am a 20-year-old female; I have a background in Caregiving, along with Law Enforcement as a Detention Officer. I serve in the Texas Army National Guard; my MOS is Combat Engineer(12b). Something to know is that I am pregnant ( I worked as a Detention Officer most of my Pregnancy) and enrolled in college for Respiratory Therapy. I became a caregiver because I have always enjoyed helping people and find it rewarding. What I like about being a caregiver is knowing that I can make a difference in someone's life and the lasting relationships I build with those I care for. I currently have 18 yrs experience being a caregiver, mainly hands on experience with Alzheimer's, dementia, cancer, and paraplegic clients. I am a happy go lucky person full of energy and guaranteed to brighten your day no matter what. I do believe this is my calling in life.

About 5 years ago, I started as a caregiver, for an elderly gentleman and I absolutely loved it. I love being around the elderly and being able to care for them. I love being caregiver because It teaches you so much, and some elderly don't have family left and we are all that they have. My personal achievement would have to be going to CNA school, and becoming one. I would love to peruse a career in this field.

I believe the qualities that make me a great caregiver are patience, compassion and attentiveness. These qualities are essential in assisting a patient at their bedside in their time of need. As stressful it can be for someone who no longer has the physical ability they once had, there needs to be someone who is understanding and empathetic to their desires to ensure comfort. My interest in becoming a caregiver comes from being the one my grandparents call on for help. I strongly believe in giving back to the community and equal effort for all ages of those in stand in the need of care. My enjoyment stems from seeing interacting and seeing my patients smile. Once I secure the peace of mind in my patients' families hearts and minds, my job is complete.

Hello my name is Sandra Betance. I worked at a nursing facility for 20 years mostly in the Alzheimer's unit. I was a CNA and a household coordinator and was very involved with all types of indoor and outdoor activities. Such as taking residents to the park, bowling, fishing, movies, bus rides, bingo, group exercise, beauty shop, dancing, and many others. I also worked at a hospital as a Patient Care Technician for a little over two years. I monitored their blood pressure, temperature, pulse, oxygen level, and blood sugar several times a day. I also assisted them with bathroom use, bathing, dressing and changing their linen. I describe myself as a professional, dependable, compassionate, trustworthy and responsible person. I've been working with seniors and patients of all ages. It makes me happy knowing that I do something for them that will make them feel better. I'm also very organized and I know how to handle difficult situations. I've received awards and recognitions due to my work ethic.
