I have been a caregiver for 44 years. I have work in the hospital. I have worked in the facility for geriatric AIDS in fresh control.

I enjoy helping people it was instilled by my mother blecause she helped a lot of people.Every Thanksgiving I deliver meals to the shutins .I feel rewarded doing that.

I feel I am a great caregiver because I meet the needs of the patient the best I can. When the patient cannot do something such as helping them hold their cup while drinking, while eating i hold their hand and teach them or help them take their food to their mouth. Showering help them bath their back i help them. Little common things they need help in. Reading, ask them did you take your medicine. Something that attracted me is when i saw an elderly lady cross the street in Dallas and helped her with her groceries and she told me she was so thankful i showed i showed up because no one would help her even though shed seen people see her struggling. The part i enjoy is my patient telling me thank you for all you have done for me today. I met their needs. I feel my achievements throughout my work in the health field is seeing their smiles and i feel proud of myself that i did my job to the best knowledge i could.

I've been in healthcare for over 10+ years. I started as a caregiver and later went to school to become a Certified Nurse Aide & Certified Medication aide. I recently was attending nursing school however, my school closed down 5 months before I could finish. So I started back doing what I love caring for seniors.

I became a CNA because because I love to care for people I have compassion and I treat people the way I would like to be treated. I am proud of myself to have accomplished my first nursing school semester.
