Welcome, I am 24 years old I live in ingleside. I work at planet fitness in Portland at the moment. I enjoy leather working, art, music, and working out. I currently want to change my major to nursing. I was a criminal Justice major but that field is a little too scary for me. I have helped my grandma and sister with diabetes since a young girl. I have also helped my mother after a shoulder replacement surgery. Needing to care for her has shown me my true calling. Hello my name is Elizabeth Chapa. I am 23 years old and love working with the elderly. A little about myself; I am a very fun, loving, outgoing, an energetic person. My friends have always told me that I put out a very positive energy towards everyone. I went to school in Ingleside, Tx and graduated high school there as well. After high school, I decided to pursue a career in cosmetology. I worked in a salon from June 2017 to September 2019. December 2019, I decided to move to New Mexico with my dad. Unfortunately, for me that did not work out. I decided to make a career switch February 2020 and moved back home to take a job here in Corpus Christi, Tx. As of right now, I currently work two jobs. I work for Caring Senior Service and Visiting Angels Living Assistance Service's. I have been working for Caring Senior Service Since February 2020 and Visiting Angels since June 2020. I have a total of 5 plus years of experience in caregiving. My grandfather developed dementia when I was around the age of 11 or 12. As I grew older, his dementia progressively became worse. He eventually became wheelchair bound and forgot how to pretty much do everything. My grandmother was the main person who cared for him, giving him his showers, toileting, administering his meds, and feeding him. It eventually became to much for her to do on her own so I decided to move in with her to help her out. I would help her do everything except for showering him. In 2016 he passed away of end stage dementia. Since then I have had a passion for working with the elderly. It is something I truly love to do. I love to be able to put a smile on their face and to let them know that they are being taken care of with no worries.
