Hello, my name is April and I have 10+ years experience working in the Home health care industry, and thoroughly enjoy it! I have provided care in homes and hospitals for a diversity of patients with Alzheimers, Parkinsons, dementia, and hospice needs. I am first aid and CPR certified, a CNA, and have started taking classes to become a nurse. I have had a variety of medical experience such as working in the University of Utah burn unit which required high medical standards. I have been told I am naturally compassionate and competent, especially when working with the elderly and disabled. I value honesty, hard work, and live a clean life style. I am also happy to help with light cleaning, meal prep., pets, and organizing/laundry. I am moving to California in the San Diego area in Septmeber 2018 and am looking to get a job as a caregiver. What makes me a great caregiver is I love to take care of people I love to be able to help people when they are in need. I want to be able to make a difference in someone's life when they are really needing help and be able to be the light that they need to help them feel better. I figured out that I loved being a caregiver when I worked in hospice and assisted living it made me feel the incredible experience of making a connection with my residents and being able to give them a loving hand or someone to talk to when they needed it. I have been a caregiver for almost 25 years. I was a member of a religious congregation for 23 years. Our main mission is to care for the Elderly in Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facilities own by the Congregation. Caring for the Elderly and the sick becomes second nature to me because in my culture (Samoan) it is a blessing to be able to care for our own elderly parents. I love doing the same to others. Last year, my dad was very sick and couldn't walk. I decided to leave the Congregation to care for him who is now able to carry out ADLs by himself, praise God!! I must say, being a caregiver gives me special satisfaction and fulfillment. It is life giving, making other people's lives better. I became a care giver to help people. I like taking care of people. I've. Done every thing to assisted living, hospice, home health, an much more. I have took care of my own grand parents. I'm a loving person. This is my passion. The people I take care of I take care of them just like they are my own family.

I became a caregiver because I love the experiences that have been told to me. I have grown so much as an individual. I have grown to love to take care of people that are not capable of taking care of themselves. They have such a genuine spirit to them and so full of life, which I have learned to obtain in my every day life. I became a caregiver in 2012 and have continue to do it.
