My name is Rachael. I started out at 13 as a candystriper. I volunteered 100 hours. I have been a Nursing Assistant for over 30+ years. I am very caring, friendly and dependable. I enjoy helping the sick, disabled and the elderly.

I became a caregiver because my mother had entered into the medical field as I was growing up and listening to her talk about how she enjoys helping others. I decided that I should give it a try when it was my time to choose a profession. Once I got into the field at nineteen years old, I fell in love with being a caregiver and I have since then within my seven years of experience prided myself on making sure I give the best care to each and every patient I've had the pleasure to care for. What makes me a good caregiver is that I go above and beyond to please the patients I am caring for and I do my absolute best to make them feel comfortable as well as just enjoying being a wonderful companionship. Being a caregiver for me is rewarding to know when I've put a smile on each persons face and family by just coming in with the willingness to meet their expectations. I am proud knowing that I've been able to see each person through while making every day as pleasant as possible while in their need of care.

I enjoy being a caregiver , it is a such good field to work on specially when you are trying to become a nurse in future. I love to comfort people to be there for them when need me.

There's nothing like the smile on the face of our elderly ones when they know you really care about them. That's my goal. I really enjoy personal home care since I know my clients are getting all the care and attention they need and deserve. I understand how dementia and Alzheimer's changes a person's personality and attitude and I have all the patience needed to work with these ones. I've always managed to get even the advanced patients to do what's need. A little kindness and distraction goes a long way. I hope I can help someone else smile again

I am a nurse aid, about to take my CNA certification test this month. I currently work for Home Instead Senior Care. I provide both personal care and companion care. I have additional training in caring for Alzheimer's and Dementia patients and most of the clients I currently care for have this. I also have additional certifications in Arthritis care, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) care, and shower safety training. I have a bright, bubbly, uplifting personality. I love to care for others. I always treat my patients with the same respect and care that I would my own grandparents. I am willing to work around other's schedules, and can accommodate special and unique needs. I get along well with family members and children, I also love animals. I have my own transportation and am prompt. I always try to go the extra mile to better the lives of others.

Hello! My name is Hanna and I'm currently working at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. I love being in healthcare and with my experience in the hospital I have realized that I enjoy working with the elderly more than any other groups of people. I enjoy being able to not only provide care but provide companionship and build relationships with my patients. I'm proud of myself for the amount of work I've put into my career at such a young age. :)

Since my teen years I have wanted to become a nurse because of my love for people and caring. During the summers of 2011 and 2012 I worked as a volunteer Certified Nurse Aide in Zambia at a hospital for children with curable disabilities. This experience confirmed my love for nursing and then in 2012 I began taking pre-nursing courses and I will start Radford`s Nursing program in the fall. Nursing is so much more than just the science and the vital signs. Nursing the whole body approach to caring for sick and hurting people. I have learned so much through the patients I have cared for about life and wisdom and that knowledge is a gift I will never forget.

I was brought up to respect your elders how I see it one day I'm going to be old and I would like to get the care and respect I deserve when when I get that age. I enjoy being a caregiver I have learned so much working with older people. they can teach you a lot about life and I do believe you should listen to what they have to say because they are wiser than younger people like myself .
